So here now version 10 is out, does annyone know if the interface bandwidth discovery issue has been fixed or not? I am on 9.5.1 and still dealing with this. Thing is with mine though is that it is occuring on Cisco 3750Gs, not 3500 series switches. Plus, it only seems to do it when you add the switch into NPM initially…

Hey Lorenzo. Here is a screenshot of my daily config check email and a SS of the Node list in NCM showing the Config Change Job information (removed screenshots). As you can see the job is setup to look at the last 1 days for changes, but also compare against the last downloaded if no configs found within the period…

Hmmm... I smell and option choice to be added into the report. ;) I could use either. I would love that to be a selectable option in the report itself or a global selection in Cirrus.

I do have two configs that meet the criteria, since I am using the option for the last known if no config has been downloaded in the last 24 hrs. I did not say that it was using the one for both. Anyway, I do have two configs for it to compare (the last downloaded and the current running) for each node, but it still gives…

Gratz Solarwinds, this issue seems to be timeout related after a patch update. The two 'Telnet/SSH' timeouts under settings had to be bumped up to fix these timeout issues: Connection Timeout: from 60 sec to 75 sec Prompt Timeout: from 30 sec to 45 sec This issue came about after I installed the latest patch for NCM 5,…

I too have a BGP alert setup and everything works except I cant get the variable to load for the BGP peer in a message. I would like to include the IP of the Peer that my router has lost connectivity with right in the alert. It shows on the nodes page but I cant select when building the alert. The property on the nodes…

Email for sure. Reports would be a good second. I dont know about a UI screen/window, would need to see what it looks like first I guess. Something else important I want to bring up would be the layout for the reports. The current output is very bulky and dry at best. Something like this format would be great... JOB Title…

Nope, still doesn't work. Once I put anything in manually to the login fields for a node, I cannot change either of the password fields back to $Global mode. I suggest an extra selection for the "Login Credentials" field. Add a "Reset Login Method to Global Settings" option that sets all four fields under login to the NCM…

Yeah, I don't think the 8.5 release fix works, since I'm using 9.5.1 and that table has grown to 39Gb. I would hope that in the releases following mine it has been fixed. I may try to upgrade and see.

"No Changes" was not what I was pointing out, its was the "No Configs" that it is displaying instead. The job clearly is setup to look at the currently and any last known saved config and check for differences. The job then should display "No changes" if the configs are not different, otherwise show the differences. But…

I have the same error, except I dont have anything in my script to do that. The script worked fine until about 4 days ago (June 16th). Here's my script: wr ! clear count y Yep, that's it. Anyone able to decipher why all of a sudden its doing this. The only change I made recently was on the "prompt timeout" setting. I…

@mmcs I hear ya. Its really annoying to get the web page version of the report with no real order, but in the Policy Reporter it automatically groups them by location and then sorts them alphabetically. Solarwinds, get this added as a feature addition. I know you want to make your product better. Well, start with fixing…

I had not Marie. I just ran across that thread yesterday and my FW counterpart needs to get involved too. I will use that thread and rjbruce's info a see if we cant get ours working. We plan on really stressing these ASAs for multiple client segregated access, in multiple locations even. Right now, our first set are a pair…

Same here, restarting the NCM polling service seems to do the trick. I wonder if its in conjunction with the object error I received when I was in the Policy Reporter earlier. Had something about an object error when adding a rule to a policy.

I'll third that... Actually, that would be nice if a few of the canned jobs would only output the failed parts. Maybe even show the failed first, then a condensed list of the successful nodes after that. Having a multiple page list to scroll down through to find the errored nodes is a real PITA. :) Just a thought. I smell…

Its not when you add one Christine, by default its set to the default Global for logins. Its when you happen to change it to something else, like having to manually enter for some reason of another, and then once you get whatever fixed so you could use the global again you cant just get all four fields set back to using…

I too an having a similar issue. I am running NCM v6.1 (tried v7 to find out SW integrated NCM with NPM, rolled back. Heads up SW, not everyone wants an integrated product like that.) Anyway, my daily config change report is showing "no configs" most of the time. The download job is setup to only download a config when it…

Actually, that would be nice. But hey, I'd just settle for decent error messages so I can troubleshoot the issue properly. The past issues I have had, it would have been really nice to know exactly what the failure was instead of some generic blanket error message. Just my two cents... and don't even get me started on…

We happen to have numerous ASA 5520's in our enterprise and some of our contexts are showing on Orion as having receive discards. Orion shows a large amount of rec discards, but the ASA shows a smaller amount of general discards on the interface. Our Firewall tech is asking me to pose some questions: After looking through…

My Login Report job just experienced the "connection refused" error this AM. I think for all nodes. Yesterday it was only one node, which is down so thats expected. I logged into the server and did some testing. I could validate successfully these things from the Cirrus interface: - Login credentials - Download a config…

I have a mixed environment for now and slowly moving to pure SSH. My resolution was two jobs: one was for SSH connection download type only, and the other job did everything else. Haven't looked back since. Besides, SW was never able to fully remedy the issue, luckily I found this workaround on my own. :)

I had the same problem. Try this. Goto START>All Programs>Solarwinds Orion Network Configuration Manager> TFTP server Then in the TFTP Server App goto File>Configure and on the Auto-Close tab, set an appropriate timeout for inactivity. I used 30 mins. Hope that helps.

Couple of small things I would like to see done... 1) In the Admin section of the website, I continually have to go back in to adjust the Limitation for a acct. Like say for a network eng acct, they need all Ciscos, but everytime we add a new device type the limitation has to be changed. Would it be possible for keyword…

Thats something we are needing. We have four 5540s and are working on making sure the system and the rest of the context configs are downloaded.
