Within each NBAR2 engine version - it will support one or more Advanced protocol pack. They can be uploaded and install on the device. How to Load the NBAR Protocol Pack* Loading the NBAR Protocol Pack Loading the NBAR Protocol PackPerform the following task to load a NBAR protocol pack. SUMMARY STEPS1. enable 2. configure…

We should also mention that the applications that NBAR is aware of is controlled by Advanced and Standard Protocol Packs. The newer IOS version support updating the Protocol Pack. The Protocol Pack contains the "signatures" of the various applications that NBAR can recognize. This will reduce the amount of unknown…

Would be a welcome feature.

Has anyone tried directly manipulating the related IPAM table? IPAM_GroupReportView.EngineID show what the current value is.
-
The only other thing I would say is that these days most of us should be keeping our IOS more current and that when you upgrade IOS you also upgrade the NBAR engine and protocol pack versions. So depending on the age of the IOS you may want to consider upgrading the IOS. The coverage in the newer protocol packs is better.…

Seeing the same behavour with IOS-XE 16.12.3a and Cisco 3850. No issues with C9300 platform. SNMPWALKS are exceptional slow. Increase SNMP polling timeout to the maximum which help with some nodes. I thought it might have a stack size factor but seems to affect both small stacks and larger stacks the same. WF

I did get it working and tweaked to meet my needs. Thanks for the example to work from.

Say you want to setup a Node Device custom poller. When you select a test node and advance to the next panel in the wizard, you set the SysObjectId by using a standard MIB location (1.3.6.1.2.1.1.2). The value returned by this MIB is related to the vendor classification of the device. It will be a value in the vendor MIB…

Hi. Here is a version that includes calculating the integer difference of the last two characters of each MAC address. That should eliminate the need to do the calculations externally. This works in Report Writer under 2017.3 Orion. SELECT NetPerfMAC.MACAddress AS Wireless_Mac, NetPerfMAC.CurrentChannel,…

Thanks Richard, I was about to create the same thing. Change Vendor to 'Intel Corporation' if you want the logo to show up. Rename download to something like IPS.poller and then import.

The machine type and software version lookups did not work for me on a 4120. I did an snmpwalk against the device and cannot see a field that provides the machine type information in the response.

I realize this is a bit dated... In 2017.3 when you disable admin rights it removes the Settings top menu item. If you know the URL you can still open the Manage Node page or others areas in this menu. So does removing Admin Rights do more than just removing the Settings top menu? With my test user I was able to move…

Hi. Have you tried using a custom table and using a Advanced Database Query SQL to create the source data?
-
Most of us probably limit storage of syslog and traps to a few days at most due to the large impact on the orion database for storing all those records. How does this product handle storing the data? How long can it be stored? How large can the database get? Is it in a separate database? You get the idea. We currently use…

Hi. I am trying your sample code and so far not getting it to work. 1) Did you have to hard code credentials in the database connect string? I have setup a Web.config file with the database server and database name but I am getting a login error now. 2) Maybe this is not right approach but I added a custom html widget to…

Just to mention that most devices will have different MAC addresses for wireless connections and wired connections.I do not see how a wireless MAC would show up on a LAN connection...
