Thanks for the write to txt file idea! it didn't quite help me with this problem, but it helped me solve another one of the issues I was having where an email was saying something was down or up but it didn't have a name for the node. Looked on the txt file to see if it had a name and found the problem ^^

Never thought of adding to write to a text file to do some troubleshooting I have the polling set to 2 mins and the evaluation of my alert is every minute. A co-worker of mine was doing updates on some of our VMs that we're monitoring and he said when he was doing those, even though the VM shut down, after 20 mins or so he…

Just saw your question and was kinda interested if I could try doing something like that (still a SolarWinds noobie myself ) but I got this far. This would be what the map would look like if you put a few account limitations, however you can still see the switches listed below the map >.> but putting limitations on the…

Okie, it was kinda like a "Just in case anyone else is experiencing this problem, Don't worry! they're on it "
-
Lol yep setting it to GET helped. Thanks!

Thanks! had to do some tweaking in it, but otherwise worked for me I had been working on a SWSQL query that got me generally what i wanted but i was still a bit confused on a few pieces of it. I had thought about creating a Undp for what i wanted like you suggested earlier, but i thought it would be nicer to create the…

Never mind, after snooping around I found my problem. I had some password conflicts on my Configuration Management. After looking at a few of the new switches we installed, I noticed we have been recently manually configuring our connection profile to a specific account, but many of our older switches had not been…

Lol well I just attended a virtual class with SolarWinds and asked the same question and he advised just putting it on another VM also xD
-
Have you been able to do it? i've been trying to get it and so far we just have anything caught by our Trap log to fw it to me via email. but i'd love to actually have them added to my NPM just to see if they are actually alive and running
-
Yep that helps a ton! Now I just gotta see if I can add it so it'll show on the LUN details, and take out duplicates on the report
-
That is a great idea!! i know i don't have a mega stash of points (actually i'm pretty poor for points ) but eventually i'll get most of the stuff I like and i'd love to donate my points if charities would be able to benefit from it!
-
And 6 hours later, it is done! It's so shiny
-
I thought it already came installed on the 11.5.2 Update or do we still need to do the hotfix 2?
-
uhmm, well i haven't tried it but i figured i'd throw out an idea anyways Maybe something like that? i dunno, i'll try some stuff and maybe snoop around to see if i can come up with anything more helpful
-
Thanks! I got a reply from the cisco support community too saying pretty much the same thing.
-
yea i mean if you go to their other page thwack Store Items & FAQ - Updated March 25, 2015 at least you can click it and it kinda dims everything around it, but its a step in the right direction ^^ I'm kinda in the same position, I think i'm gonna get the hoodie though, i can wear it in more places and proudly display it

Was scratching my head at first b/c I was given full admin privileges on NPM, but couldn't figure why I couldn't refresh the dates. Turns out under settings -> Manage Accounts -> user, there is a Network Configuration Manager Setting has its own account types After making myself an admin I could refresh and edit…

*facepalm* i forgot about that setting, and over thought the solution again thanks for the help!
-
Lol thanks again for the help
-
lol if we had SAM in our environment i'd probably go do it
-
Lol i just introduced my Co-worker to Thwack, b/c she'll be working with our Trial (and hopefully acquisition) of NTM, and got to run her through the on-boarding mission
-
would have been nice to find this earlier ^^ i ended up figuring out some of this stuff on the SolarWinds videos and trial and error, but there is still a lot of tweaking that this will help me to do thanks!
-
Wish I found this guide earlier! Had to dig through the forums and figured this out through one of the forum responses >.>
-
I am also very curious as we have one APE, it'd be nice to see overall performance on both pollers
-
I'd love to know also. We are currently trying out the 14 day trial and we are pretty interested in it, but i'm kinda discouraged at the lack of updates on MA

This is my reply

Nvm its back up 10 mins later

Looking at your Machine-1 jpeg, it looks like that machine is running a 32 Bit OS, which is not supported by the sensors. see reference Quality of Experience requirements in the error picture, did you verify that the credentials work?

Well i've had about 3 weeks to learn SolarWinds NPM and NCM already and I'd have to say it was quite the grind to understand everything I (sort-of) learned I've had/created problems as i've gone along already and am still on tech support trying to get my orion server working correctly >.> I think my problem with learning…

i know this already has been answered but just encase anyone stumbles across this, SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: Sending SMS alerts from Network Performance Monitor will also give you a full list of the SMS addresses for most carriers
