I am not sure about Engineering Tool set - please check on that, but then "Would I just need to upgrade my additional polling engine alongside my installation of NPM? That is to say do I just upgrade additional polling engine in the same increments I am upgrading my NPM? " You are correct. (Additional Poller bits are…

I would suggest you to jot down the upgrade path first, I don't think Product Upgrade Advisor would help you much as the upgrade path is pretty big You might need the link later, once a couple of modules have been upgraded Product Upgrade Advisor | SolarWinds Customer Portal To start with refer to the good old…

Guess so, revisit the pre-requisites. Check your IIS, App pools and DB response. (I am sure you would have already looked into CPU/Mem utilization) Hope it helps
-
You will have to go with a workaround for the same - create a custom sql alert for SNMP requests not being handled by the server. From what i understand there is no way you can alert on No CPU/Mem - as the values will be blank in your case/issue - it wont have the % as well it wont have null in it - it would just be blank.…

Hi humejo I totally agree with you on mass SNMP based status monitoring. Hi naeemfirdous - if you are only looking for a mass change from ICMP to SNMP based status monitoring the above solution would work. But then if you are specifically talking about 'list resources on multiple nodes' please raise it as a feature request.
-
Yes , but then you can use them on Custom SQL Alerts to an extent. Not all of them but defn yes. (Its what I understand)

Hi naeemfirdous , I didn't get your question completely. If you are talking about multiple node edit at the same time, we already do have this feature. We have multiple node edit, we have multiple interface edit and we have custom property editor as well for custom properties. If it is something else you are talking about…

Hi Subash, 1. Whether one HA license will support all the above modules? Yes, thats correct, but there is a catch here. HA is a generic license which can be used for Primary Poller or for an APE. For Primary Poller say you purchase a HA license, HA will only be available on your Primary server, if you need HA for APE you…

Hi Subash, Why would you want to post this on thwack, rather you could send a mail to SolarWinds support and they would help you with all the details that you are looking for, but then I can help you with few pointers which would help you though. A. I am afraid i dont quite understand how is your infrastructure placed ->…

could you paste your trigger condition pls, the issue could be with the trigger condition

If you have SAM in place why dont you create a template monitor syslog service through SAM and create a restart for this service through Advanced Alert Manager ? If you have SAM in place ...

Hi kange0010, Thanks @David Smith, how stupid am I, kange0010 -> are you spinning up new machines Win 2016 or are you upgrading Win 2008 R2 to 2016 ? My response talks about migrating the existing application & DB onto new Win 2016 boxes.
-
I would perform the migration as mentioned below: 1. SolarWinds would always suggest to keep your environment on the latest versions as all the known bugs are fixed + you get to use the latest features released for each module, but i generally upgrade it to N-1 version, it again depends on how would you like to take this.…

Could you please tell me what all modules do you have in your environment along with NPM 12.0.1
-
There is a way to migrate the application, all your questions are answered in the below link Migration Guide - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support Hope it helps

Try Event Log Monitor in SAM, when the service is hung it would definitely log that information, find the event id for the same and monitor it Windows Event Log monitor
-
Might not be a completely automated setup for your requirement , but then you can use the below suggestion: You can use unmanage scheduling utility available on your primary poller (All Programs -> Solarwinds Orion -> Advanced Features - > Unmanage scheduling utility) Add the servers that needs to be unmanaged using the…

Hi jburke I am assuming you have a SAM ALX license (unlimited). 1. SAM polling rate doesn't actually consider the excess resourcing that's available on the server, its more to do with the application limit itself, as per Scalability engine guidelines 8-10K component monitors on each SAM instance (the polling rate that you…

Check if this is what you are looking for , go to all active alerts screen , 'Alerts' -> Click on More and uncheck 'dont prompt for alert notes'

Not sure if you are talking about alert creation, Check if the below helps

Have you tried this ? https://support.solarwinds.com/Success_Center/Network_Performance_Monitor_(NPM)/Cannot_create_new_Table_(Accounts)_Execu…

Are you sure if the windows server is responding to SNMP/WMI queries sent by NPM ? - Have you tried both method's of polling ?
-
From what i understand this should definitely work, except for the .NET version, make sure same version of .NET is running on 2012 and 2016 servers.

Im sure there are lot many questions asked by Solarwinds Customers by opening support cases, most of them cannot be posted over thwack due to various reasons (security measures, contract between Solarwinds support and customer etc etc) - But then can generic solution's be updated by Solarwinds staff?
-
HolyGuacamole is abs right, Use Universal Device Poller which runs on your solarwinds poller

Completed the survey , thanks

Say suppose its a 2 node cluster (Add all 3 CIP,PIP,PIP as devices within Solarwinds): 1. Add and Monitor the cluster ip as a device, with respect to disks enable only quorum and shared disk monitoring on cluster ip 2. Add and Monitor both the physical nodes , remaining disks have to be monitored on physical nodes 3. For…

Did you save the file as Filename.csv when you exported the file?
-
Please check the variables that you are using on Report Writer and please check your SQL query on Database Manager. From the above post looks like the query or variables that are using are incorrect or that is not what you intend to do. Yes you are correct .csv and then on you can view it as an Excel sheet. If possible…
