Hi, I am not be completely correct but then: 1. Please check the permission's of /tmp directory . (ls -ltr /tmp) 2. If you want to test file creation manually on that server do that as well. Login into that server using solarwinds credentials that are used by your Linux/Unix Script monitor and try creating a dummy file cat…

Go through the below post, you would get most of the details you require: https://thwack.solarwinds.com/thread/67249

On your HTTP Monitor Template - on the component set 'Credential for Monitoring : <None>' and then test it

Re: Timezone Discussion (Remote pollers)

1. Its just a suggestion, try to clear as many Unknown's/Down's/and elements that are not collecting data in Solarwinds. 2. Could be that you poller is eating up more CPU, check if the issue is happening due to JobEngine process. 3. Why dont you have a weekly maintenance on the server ? Why can't you reboot the VM once in…

1. Definitely yes, if its specific for a node get onto the node , click on the template name on node view and click on unmanage. 2. If its a bulk request multiple templates on multiple nodes use "Unmanage schedule utility" which is available on your poller. You can unmanage templates in bulk. There are several others ways…

Unmanaging and Remanaging Nodes: (This would explain Unmanaged Node) Unmanaged Nodes are nodes which are already managed by Solarwinds but you want to stop monitoring on them for certain period of time - (When you Unmanage the node you can specify the time till when you don't want to monitor the same) When you need to…

Account used for scheduled tasks is local administrator at orion server. Did you set the password of your account again on Orion report scheduler ? after you edited other fields ? Do you have a different account/user to that server which can run scheduled tasks? If so replace the existing account/user with the new…

Check if this is what you are looking for https://thwack.solarwinds.com/thread/67285

Re-adding the node might resolve the issue , give it a try. Delete and add it again - "but then we would loose historical data"
-
rcolanero - why don't you raise this as a feature request (silent install) Well you might get several idea from thwackers, but then it would never be an actual solution that you are looking for. One workaround I can think of as of now is - use any testing tool or a tool that is capable of recording installation steps (as…

There is nothing wrong that you are doing - it looks good its a expected behavior , if you change the trigger condition of the alert it would prompt a message "You have changed the trigger conditions for this alert. This will clear out any triggered alerts for this alert definition. Do you wish to continue? " What happens…

Hi dmeiser You can add each blade as a separate node and status gets linked onto your UCS Overview Page. Go back to same page UCS Overview, left mouse click on blade-1 and add it to monitoring(/manage) on your Solarwinds. Then refresh your UCS Overview page and check if you can see the status of the blade (after you add…

If you are monitoring your Physical IP using WMI in Solarwinds + you have SAM module installed. You can just get onto this node and on the node view you would find 'service control manager' Click on that, you should be able to see 'SQL Server (SQLInstance)' - Running on the Service Control Manager Window Click on this…
-
If you have SAM in your environment you can use 'Windows Service Component' and monitor the instance on active Physical IP provided the nodes are being monitored using WMI

Good place to start with would be to check for snmp config on the Cisco device, device is not responding to Solarwinds as expected. Try doing an SNMP walk from any of your pollers
-
Did you check if syslog service was running ? Login into your primary poller and check for the status of Solarwinds Syslog Service (Orion Service Manager)
-
Try other types of Reports as well that suits your requirement , then you can link them up using a web based report as required
-
Either go with Custom SQL Reports as mentioned in the previous post or go with the good old Report Writer available on your Primary Poller. 1. Login into your Solarwinds Primary Poller 2. Start -> All Programs -> Solarwinds Orion -> Alerting,Reporting, and Mapping -> Report Writer 3. Create a New Report -> Inventory…
-
You can use 'Poller Checker Tool' to fetch OID details used by NPM. You would find this tool on your primary poller, below link would help you on the same http://thwack.solarwinds.com/docs/DOC-174740

1. Was there any change or upgrade or patch installation on additional poller servers ? 2. Solarwinds support might suggest you to re-install JobEngine service alone. (You might have to unistall and re-install the same)
-
Can you re-add the device ? Capture all custom attributes for later use, delete the node on Solarwinds and re-add the same again. Try re-adding the device, its probably because of SNMP (as node was added via SNMP + ICMP Poll) that the changes aren't reflected.
-
Can you use another filesystem rather than /tmp to test it ? You might have some kind of a cleanup script on your server which clears the /tmp. Try /home/solarwin or /home or someother filesystem and check if the script works fine.

Hi, I dont have an alert configured on routing neighbors but then from what I understand your alert will not work. You will have to go with a Custom SQL alert to achieve this (nested query alert). Type of Property to Monitor: Custom SQL Alert Set up your trigger query: : Routing Neighbors Please check the below posts (you…

1. Self monitoring for Orion - there are several ways to do it, but then the best approach would be outside Orion. If you have another tool linked to Orion, create scripts or monitors or log files parser or event logger using the other tool to monitor Orion and its services (this is the approach I would go with). 2. If you…

Did you try Support_Team Like '*Support*'

If you want to go a step further with custom menu bars, check the below post: https://thwack.solarwinds.com/thread/67907 Hope it helps
-
These views are linked to the account you login in with: 1. If you use existing menu bars then directly get onto accounts and change it accordingly, settings -> manage accounts -> select the account -> click on edit -> under "Default Menu Bar and Views" select the menu bar you require and hit on submit 2. If you need a…
