I am not be totally correct but from what i understand you will not have a polling issue - Solarwinds is functioning fine and it would be polling data for the devices added onto it, its just that this particular field Last DB Update is showing incorrect status because keepalive is not updated accordingly on the DB.
-
Hi silverbacksays Run this simple query on Solarwinds DB SELECT * FROM [dbo].[Engines] And check if KeepAlive field has the latest & appropriate timestamp
-
is this issue fixed ? If yes what exactly did you do to fix the same

Check out more on SWIS (Orion SDK) - but it still is a difficult task

Hi ebradford It as well comes with certain pros and cons, there are few cool posts regarding the same worth looking into them SNMP vs WMI polling - pros and cons Polling Using WMI versus the new Agent SAM WMI vs Agent monitoring And finally a Geek Speak article on Agent vs Agentless Agentless versus Agent-based server…

Hi jbarr3tt On Customer Portal Login | SolarWinds, under Support tab you have Product Upgrade Advisor, just click on it provide what modules you have in your environment it would automatically list what need's to be done. Hope it helps
-
disable them using settings -> manage sensors
-
I haven't worked on "Alert Central" yet but then from what I understand you do not have a call facility rather you have an SMS facility on it. Another option would be "MIR3" - this tool has an email+phone capability
-
Hi cdvorak - why don't you have a look at "Alert Central" ? Its a free tool from Solarwinds https://thwack.solarwinds.com/docs/DOC-170671 Probably this is what you are looking for which can be easily integrated with Solarwinds NPM that you are already have Hope it helps
-
Suggestion 1: Under NPM Settings -> Node & Group Management -> You can use 'Manage Dependencies' to restrict the same. Suggestion 2: To improvise your setup, as a next step you can segregate the nodes by grouping them accordingly by using 'Manage Groups', once you are done with Parent & Child Groups, you can use these…

Hi pratikmehta003, I totally agree with you and my fellow thwackers, but why do you want to do this on SolarWinds ? You already have a good setup and from what I understand you have generic alerts in place within SolarWinds, which is integrated with SNOW (via power shell), having generic alerts is easy to manage and as…

Event Log Forwarder - Where is the Audit Failure Type? https://www.jtc-i.co.jp/support/documents/solarwinds_docs/EventLogForwarder_v1.2_setup.pdf Open a case if the above thread doesn't help much

Hardware spec looks fine, but can't suggest much unless we get to know what exactly is being monitored in your environment using the above modules (this is required to assess current capacity and load on Solarwinds). There is no harm in installing WPM on the same box as other modules, but the question is where would the…

Hi amhuerta110212 To the best of my knowledge IVIM is Integrated Virtual Infrastructure Monitor , its bundled within NPM or SAM that you install on your machine. Your latest NPM or SAM version would have the latest best suited IVIM within it. But then if the scope of your Virtual appliances are much bigger then you should…

Root cause - unidentified Solution - Re-ran Configuration Wizard to fix the issue
-
I am not sure what the issue was and why did it occur at the first place, i re-ran the config wizard and after a while everything seems to be back to normal. Polling completion is now at 100.

When you use Unmanage schedule utility it would create 2 files .cmd and .xml , which would ideally sit under Drive:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\UnmanageUtility\Tasks -> for .cmd Drive:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\UnmanageUtility\Jobs -> for .xml (this would have the list of all elements that you have…

Where is this info being populated - System Info Area ?

Did this issue resolve ? OR are you still working on it ?

From what I understand from the above description you would like to see which alert got triggered (something like audit log), follow the below steps: 1. Get onto Advanced Alert Manager 2. Select the Alert -> Click on Edit 3. Under Trigger Actions of the Alert, click on "Add New Action" 4. Select on "Log the Alert to…

If its only Hardware health Sensors that you are talking about you will get to see what Hardware sensors are deployed on which device using the below option
-
Nope , its not possible as this is not stored in Solarwinds anywhere unless its checked and added to monitoring
-
If you talking about unmanaging servers under a solarwinds group - nope we dont have this functionality as of now. Why dont you post an idea for the same.
-
Yes you can using Linux/Unix script monitor (SAM) - you can use the default message/statistics (0/1) and fire an alert. But then would you be using the same username/password on SAM monitor that is being used to login into the server?
-
1. Deploy SAM on the NPM server to use existing NPM database and then install two APEs (which will again connect to same database). 2. You need additional license for APE's (In total you will have your NPM license, SAM license and 2 X Additional poller license). Note: SAM on a seperate orion server with two APEs and use…

On your primary poller, search for Orion Service Manager and restart Syslog service from there
-
Yes, Did you restart Syslog services on your pollers ? If you haven't yet, restart the syslog service and check if messages are coming in.
-
Did you try restarting the services ?
