Possible, look at the below link, I have tested this and it works, if you are taking in terms of SWSD please ignore the below link, if you have other SolarWinds modules which is generating these alerts then the below link is useful. Where in which you can send a parallel notification to teams. (+) Integrating SolarWinds…

I am assuming you have a valid solarwinds license for IPAM. Yes you will need to move to the latest versions, post EOL you would not receive any support from SolarWinds as 2020.X is obsolete. If you want to continue with the same then you are always on RISK (if something breaks and if you cant fix it then its as good as…

Do you have a valid SMTP server in your organization to which you can connect to ?

My exp was a little different, we have managed to fix most of the issues but I still need to look into a few things. I upgraded from 2020.2.6 to 2023.4.2 and broke a few things on NCM. Upgrade was smooth but then I faced a few issues though broke the NCM Views, had to change few custom templates, custom creds and other…

Was is this -> Article Detail (solarwinds.com) or something else, what error was it ?

1. Do you have any reports that have huge number of rows ? This will be your starting point to check. 2. Or do you have any views/dashboards with bulk load of information in your environment. 3. When did the issue start ? If its a recent one, check for the above things. I was facing this issue where I had created a massive…

Are you using a mix of all 3 SNMP, WMI and agent ? As well I am assuming when you did add the device this was working. Is your SolarWinds platform stable enough ? Are you following the best practices' and are your SolarWinds Pollers good (I mean you arent overloading your pollers, making sure the latency is less, pollers…

Not sure what sort of load this adds onto your Primary Poller, I am testing this in one of my boxes, will keep you posted if I see an odd behavior.

1. This will only reside on your Primary poller or Additional Web Server if any (if you are talking about IIS used by SolarWinds). You can use a built in one to proactively monitor your SolarWinds IIS (AppInsight for IIS): https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/success_center/sam/content/sam-appinsight-for-iis-sw1604.htm…

If a generic SAM component/template based alert exists in your environment then for sure an alert will be fired. Its a little difficult to say without knowing what alerts are configured in your environment.
-
Welcome to the world of SolarWinds, I am assuming you already have SAM which is why you have posted this query on SAM forum. @"Seashore" has already pasted the link that will help you with all that you need with respect to SAM. If you are first timer in that case the easiest approach is make sure you have admin rights to…

Have a look at the below link: You can login into the portal but data will not be collected anymore for the nodes, historical data will still be available unless its archived by DB Maintenance. But I dont think you can perform actions as well, like adding nodes etc In the past we could use the tool and SolarWinds modules…

Hi @"stuartd" I am currently on 2020.2.6 and planning to upgrade to 2023.4.2, I know i can directly upgrade to the 2023.4.2 I was going through a few threads: 1. Backup any Unmanage utility tasks 2. Make sure there are no custom queries used in syslogs/traps rules 3. Is there anything else that you can think of that is…

It could be in issue with the installer as @"adam.beedell" has specified. As well what Windows version are you using on which you are installing SolarWinds ?
-
The best option is to raise a support case with SolarWinds, this seems like something that has changed post upgrade. Crude approach would be re-run configuration wizard in your environment, that would recheck/refresh your website association. I wouldn't suggest to run this as I am not sure what caused this at first place.…

You can as well use 'Message Center' on your SolarWinds GUI to certain extent to check these details. Click on ALERTS & ACTIVITY -> Message Center Select Audit Events - start with all 'action types' and you can as well choose the Time Period. After playing around with it for a while you can select the specific action type…

I don't completely understand your query. 1. Primary Poller is not touched good. Do you want to make the changes on your Standby Poller which is in High Availability mode with your Primary poller or do you want to make changes to your Additional Poller ? 2. If its a HA setup you will have Primary Poller paired with Standby…

I have done both Cloud and On-Prem. This is how i see it: 1. I have always liked On-Prem, but then those days are gone, companies don't really have a big chunk of Datacenters that they manage all by themselves anymore. 2. It's all cloud that most companies are moving towards, if you are looking at a simplified approach…

Start of with the optimization checklist - https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/success_center/orionplatform/content/core-optimization-intro_checklist.htm If most of these things are already in place that is when we will need to do a deep dive, hope this helps __PRESENT

To the best of my knowledge you will need to add each subscription, I have pasted the link below which will help you with the details https://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/en/flarehelp/orionplatform/content/core-cloud-find-credentials.htm?cshid=OrionCloudAzureCredentials On Subscription they do mention this -> "Each…

Its been quite some time that I have used WPM, but as far as I remember we cant edit the URL and reuse the same, there were a few options though (I am not sure if it would work, below are just a few suggestions which you will need to test before implementing it) 1. Change the URL on backed - SQL queries…

The only way that i can think of is to manually add them one by one on SolarWinds GUI. You cant run a discovery but you can still add it manually through Add Node (managed nodes). It doesnt really matter if the node is up or down, but then this is a manual task and if we are talking about more number of nodes then it isn't…

I completely agree with @"RaviK" , but you will as well need to consider several other factors, firstly what is that you or your company would need out of this deployment ? When you did mention Why ? This is something that you will need to come up with after thinking about every aspect. 1. Where is majority of your…

It is still hitting your SolarWinds servers. Syslogs are chatty and when the end devices are pumping in a lot of syslogs into SolarWinds it does cause a performance issue. Even though you place a discard rule it doesnt really help to a great extent, the only advantage with the discard rule is that you are not saving that…

To the best of my knowledge you are right in saying so "If I accidently move the image of the map the icons representing switches don't move with it". Background image will not actually hold any icons that you represent on top of it, its just a background. If you move the image of the map that wouldn't realign the icons…

What happens if you ignore that statement ? Let the scheduler state excel is not supported ignore the warning go ahead and schedule the report and check if you are receiving excel reports. As well do you have AWS in your environment ? Or are you accessing SolarWinds URL from primary poller ?

Hello @"ericdavishermes" There are a couple of ways i can think of, but then I cant suggest accurately without understanding more on how your environment is built. 1. Rather than Groups use a Node custom property. Create a new custom property and populate the location information. You can use the node custom property…

It also depends on what type of alert it is (Under Trigger Condition check what is selected under 'I want to alert on') - not all variables can be used, or in other words not all alert variables are applicable based on the type of alert. You should find the alert variables from the below link:…

What do you mean by our own device OID? Is it your SolarWinds Server or laptop or what? Use the Poller Checker tool Try using Poller Checker tool in your SolarWinds environment, if you need to know what OIDs SolarWinds uses. If it's a generic ask you can use any MIB tool, one is already available on SolarWinds screen.…
