"discovery wizard to select all volumes for monitoring. However... we have tried the discovery wizard and found it blows away other monitoring in place" This isn't completely true, you can control lots of things on "network discovery" (discovery wizard). Run the discovery don't select automatic import when you run the…

Haven't heard of this till date, to the best of knowledge it can't be done - but I could be wrong. Are you talking about the UI ? You mean to say you want to open SaaS GUI in NOC View ?

The below link has all details that you are looking for: https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/success_center/sam/content/sam-linux-unix-script-monitor-sw3260.htm With respect to a separate account, its always good to have a linux user account which would be added across the linux infra and probably this account should…

Raise a case in that case with the vendor, SNMP Walk seems to work fine but not here is strange. I hope you are running SNMP Walk from SolarWinds Pollers where this device is added.
-
Is this happening for all devices or is it just for a few ? If its only for a few is it just linked to the ones on the same poller ? If all affected devices reside on same poller then its definitely a performance issue on your poller. You will need to start figuring out the reason as to why so and start fixing from there.
-
Forget the MIB Browser, did you test this on UNDP ? Open Universal Device Poller executable on your poller and test it out, probably I am guessing it could also be the type of response, click on Advanced section in UNDP and check.

Could be due to performance issues on either your SolarWinds Servers or on the end devices (Windows boxes) on which the template is applied on. 1. If there are too many such cases then it's definitely your SolarWinds Server which needs to be maintained - If it isnt this case that means there aren't any performance issues…

Not sure if this is an automated, I mean server automatically reboots after patching. I honestly hate this as we don't have a control on it. I control this manually, I have a similar setup of HA. After patching firstly I break the HA, stop solarwinds services on standby reboot it. Then I enable HA, failover to standby and…
-
Do you reboot your windows machines after patching? If you don't I think you should or at least introduce a monthly maintenance activity to reboot your SolarWinds windows machines once in a month as part of best practices. Hope this helps.

Try Advanced online demo yourself to see what you get with it - https://hco.demo.solarwinds.com/

Login onto the switch and get the details of ssh deployed - probably 'sh ssh' command should give you the details that you are looking for. The output will contain fields like the one mentioned below: Connection-Version-Mode-Encryption-Hmac-State Check the encryption details (output) Refer to Supported algorithms and…
-
If your issue is similar to mine, then the configuration on the switch needs to be corrected/changed accordingly.
-
This probably could be related to encryption method (Encryption algorithms) used on the switch. The switch needs to be configured with one of the encryption algorithms that SolarWinds can use to download configuration. I did see this in the past in one of my instances where I had SolarWinds NCM, let me share the KB link…

No - this can't be done, not that I am aware of (if I have understood your query correctly). Unless you have other plans for it 1. Like SolarWinds EOC to view everything from both the instances into a single dashboard (or unified console). 2. Or some sort of magic through SolarWinds API calls. Hope this helps.

Sorry I might have placed the AND condition in the wrong place, place that AND outside
-
Rather than pulling it through custom SQL/SWQL you can use existing built in reports with some minor modifications to the conditions for your requirement. Search for Report 'Triggered and Reset Alerts - Last 30 Days' copy it in your environment and make changes to the conditions that you are looking for - you can add…

I don't believe it is there, but I could be wrong, there was a feature request for the same that was raised 4 years back - hope this helps Add alerting variables for AppInsight SQL components - Feature Requests - Server & Application Monitor (SAM) - THWACK

There is no definite answer for this, ideally yes we poll APEs from MPE and we can choose any APE to poll MPE (but my suggestion would be to use an APE that is less loaded). In the past if you remember we had few free tools which we would ideally use for self monitoring, or we would use a tool outside of SolarWinds to…

There could be another reason to this - BGP Neighbor status in 'Not Available' - check if this is the case. In few scenarios the neighbor status is represented as Not Available in SolarWinds when device doesn't respond back with a valid value.
-
yes, but there isn't a list like the one you are looking for in documentation or kb which will tell you which components will post Up/Down or which will post Warning/Critical.
-
good luck with that, havent tried that approach before, if it works do paste it here so that it would help others.
-
You can find the list of all component monitors here SAM component monitors Your statement is not completely correct, if a particular component monitor has any sort of thresholds in it that is when you will see warning/critical. Up/Down is for the status of component monitor itself. You will need to go through each of…

Yes and No. 1. Check if Cradlepoint devices support SNMP or SNMP Traps - if that is possible you can monitor it to certain extent through NPM - not everything but you can still do it to an extent. Either SNMP poll or SNMP Trap (NPM can consume traps from these boxes if these devices can send them to SolarWinds NPM).…

Most convenient way is to create 'custom properties' - custom properties are very useful which can be used for reporting or dashboard or alerting. Custom Properties for Interfaces
-
Let me keep this very simple (I am not sure what modules/products you have in your environment but yet overall, it's the same concept): 1. When you say SolarWinds High Availability - we are mainly talking about MPE or APE (Main Polling Engine or Additional Pollers) 2. Yes, you will need to build another new APE/MPE and…
-
The error states "A timeout occurred while waiting for memory resources to execute the query in resource pool" Try re-running Config Wizard, that might fix the issue. Hope this helps.
-
Below options will help you in building it the way you want (this will narrow down the ones that needs attention - like say SNMP issues): 1. Use the default "node not polled in last 10 minutes" alerts or modify it accordingly. 2. Build you own custom swql alert - Alert on Nodes that stopped responding to SNMP - Forum -…
-
Try running your query on Database manager first, could be something to do with SQL namespaces. Like say for example [dbo].[Orion].[Nodes] etc the query that's imported directly from SQL Management Studio might not work in SolarWinds. Hope this helps.
-
Message Center should show both active and historical - the issue could be somewhere else - validate your alert actions to start with.

Check this Node status contributors To enable it, click Settings > All Settings > Polling Settings, and select Enhanced for the Node Status Calculation. To enable it, click Settings > All Settings > Node Child Status Participation.
