  • I missed this and would like to see a recorded copy, if possible.
  • It didn't do anything for me. SWToolSet.Engine shows as enabled, I clicked to "Allow from all sites", but I still have it prompting me every page refresh to install SWToolSet all over again. It's tool icons also do not appear on the page, which is a further indication that it really isn't installed. Hope someone at…
  • Interesting update to this. We have 30 FortiGate 80C firewalls, 29 running FortiOS 5, patch 1, and one running FortiOS 5, patch 3. 8 of the systems running patch 1 and the single system running patch 3 display CPU and memory usage using the standard poller. The other 21 FortiGates do not. We use NCM to ensure that our…
  • For some reason, the "Network Latency - Last 7 Days" chart had "Amount of historical data to load" set at "Last 1 Day". Changing that to "Last 7 Days" populated the chart. Glad that it is now able to display, but why wouldn't it earlier have shown the day's worth of data it had, while showing no data for the other 6 days?…
  • Thanks for the heads-up! Somehow, someone in our organization changed all of our Windows servers from WMI monitoring to SNMP monitoring. After looking at the SAM admin guide, I checked a short selection of systems and discovered they had all been changed, which explains why the Hyper-V info was missing. That is getting…
  • No, I used the built-in support. With FortiOS 4, when you would have NPM do a List Resources, the CPU, memory, and about 4 disk drives/spaces would show up. With the release of FortiOS 5, that does not occur for the firewalls. It does for their FortiAnalyzer, but not the FortiGate firewalls. They did make quite a few…
  • Jason, I am experiencing what thawkson is reporting above. I've done everything listed in your doc, but I'm not seeing a way to add this to my Node Details view. Please advise, as this will be extremely helpful to us. Thanks!
  • WEEKS!??! Wow, I'm in direland69's situation; Application Monitor is a required component, not an option. It blocks me from moving up as well. Will we finally be able to add apps to our Orion maps? That is a missing function that has always surprised me. If this didn't "make the cut" for this version, can we get an…
  • Thanks for the replies so far. I'm not sure the issue is Win7. Win7 is more like Vista than IE8 is to IE7. I think the issue is more likely IE8, but I can't be certain. Is anyone able to use swtoolset.exe under IE8 and Vista?
  • I know that I replied to this topic early on, but wanted to chime in again. I agree with several other posters in asking for better integration with Application Monitor. We should be able to imbed app monitors in our maps for alerting purposes just as we can network interfaces. Again, agreeing with earlier posters,…
  • Denny, The intended additions for V8 really hit my biggest holes. If I were to add more features I would look at: 1. Additional monitoring features for non-SNMP enabled devices (by device ability to ping device on a given port(s), by device ability to change # of pings). 2. By device adjustable monitoring (frequency of…
  • Run as a service... HUGE. It is so frustrating to be running Orion in a web page, click on one of my tool icons and have it puke because I'm not logged into the base server but am running it from my laptop. Yeah, I can fire up Remote Desktop, THEN launch my Orion web page and THEN the tools work, but what a pain in the…
  • quote:Originally posted by PaulWeaver Will it be possible to show application status on maps in v8? I was rather... shocked.. to find that I can't add application monitors to my maps. It also appears that if I want to monitor app status or get reports on app counters that my only option is to write a custom SQL report. Can…
  • Custom MIB support for Dell products would be a godsend. We're a 100% Dell shop (I expect there are a few others out there). I'm looking for PowerEdge and PowerConnect (servers and switches) support on temperature, voltage, the sort of thing OpenManage now reports but coming in through Orion instead. Too d*mn many tools…
  • I have not heard from anyone in several weeks. Are there any ideas as to why some firewalls respond to the standard CPU and memory usage poller and others do not? I really need a consistent way to monitor these systems. Thanks!
