Please add this. We are currently using a SharePoint workflow and Excel spreadsheet to do this.

That did work. Should have thought of that myself. Thanks.

Just had this issue yesterday. Orion just said the port was down, but it was err-disabled.
-
Can I push this further. Is there anyway to make the Caption a link to the actual Syslog messages?
-
This is working for me. Thank you very much. I would never have figured this out.
-
I have opened a case on this and got a solution. I have done this on our development server and it did fix the issue. Here is what I was told to do... RDP to the Primary Orion server 2. Access the Orion web console from here and see if the issue persists. If not see next step 3. Navigate to C:\Program Files…

We have received your support request for support case #00903155. Case open, lets see if anyone can figure it out.

I have quite a few Nexus 9336C switches in my network and back up every one of them. Device Template: Generic Cisco Nexus
-
We upgraded to NCM 7.3 and now it is working correctly. Switches that are configured to a polling engine are being configured with that polling engine. Yeah!
-
I am currently running version 7.2.1.
-
Anyone got any ideas? I am still stuck with being able to run jobs against switches that are being polled by a polling engine. I am still stuck with a bunch of tasks in the jobs transfer list that shows initializing. Help please.

How do you run a script from a polling engine? Maybe that is what I am doing wrong. I am going under Config to Configuration Manager. Selecting Execute Script and entering my script. When I hit Next, I get to pick out the nodes I want to execute the script on. I never get to say from where. Another question about this, how…

That did it!! Thank you for the help.

So that gave me a much bigger list. Thank you. I need to talk with the admins about these boxes.

Just checked the NCM settings. I have additional polling engines checked under the Polling Engine Configuration for NCM. I have to run the scripts off the polling engines as I have a firewall between the main poller and the additional polling engines. I checked by trying to execute a script on a switch that is polled by a…

Never thought to do that! I have deleted them. Now I will wait to make sure Solarwinds does not put them back. Sometimes the easy answer is the right one. Sure hope so.

Yes, multiple enters. Is there a way to code the carriage return instead of just hitting the enter key?
-
I am no Windows admin. I don't think they are using WMI, but I don't know. We am not managing any Linux with NCM. Only network gear is in NCM. What about ESXi?
-
So I created a report using your search. I did not get back nearly as much as I thought I should. What if I wanted it to run against all nodes and not just those polled by SNMP? What would the WHERE change to? Thank you for the help.

We are the same way. EoL and EoS are not useful. EoSWM is the date to use. What I have found most of the time is that these dates all depends on the software. If you hit the EoSWM for one version, it just means you need to update to a later version.

ping -a works. I try an nslookup with the IP address and it does not resolve, but if I use the hostname of the server, it does resolve.
-
After talking this over with our group, I realized that we don't use TFTP. DUH. we use SSH and the upgrade wiped out the SSH configuration. This had to be re entered and all it working fine now. we side stepped the issue.

The Example Reboot Job in the NCM Jobs list works. Anyone know what is going on in the covers of that job? There are no options to add to the script. Is there somewhere that the script is stored that I can look at it?
-
nevermind. I don't know how many times I typed it wrong. Finally must have gotten the username/password right cause it started to work.
-
So sending syslogs to the polling engine does not get those messages to the main app server, correct? The polling engines will not forward that data?
-
Can you just add a y {CR$} to the next line in the script?
-
I would just dump all used addresses into Excel and sort there.
