Was just in the support portal opening a case and noticed they have a hotfix for 12.7.1 looks like this is addressed if you have a test instance may want to give it a go: ____________________ SolarWinds Web Help Desk 12.7.1.538 Hot Fix (WHD-3817 and WHD-3816) This hot fix resolves the following issues: * Word wrapping in…

Instead of deleting just disable it.

Thank you I kind of hope there is some stone I left unturned but I am fairly certain I have not. You are correct in that there are a couple of different feature requests on custom field logic and management and this is something that would apply to a fairly large percentage of your user base. Given the depth of how and…

Even through your reporting it in the RC thread you should probably create a support case anyway to make sure its tracked.

I sometimes see this in IE 10. Most of the time the icon is there. Sometimes its not. Does not seem to matter if I am on an internal or external network.
-
If all of your users are in separate OU's set up separate AD connections for the OU's you do want by using the users DN field. This is how we do it.
-
I just created one but when you have some minutes you probably should as well to get bet better visibility.

Are you able to save changes to a profile?
-
For further reference the guide will depend on your version .In 12.2 there were a few additional enhancements to the API that version for 12.2 or higher use this link Web Help Desk REST API Guide

I am not sure of another way to resolve that. Maybe a bulk action to close the ticket, if that does not work I would suggest calling support. There are a few strange things in the way that the software acts when using the approval processes.

If you go to Setup --> General --> System Information and look for the line labeled JVM memory. You will see version information there at the bottom there is a live "bar" that shows memory usage. The bar is live and updates every few seconds but underneath it shows the text output mine is showing 723.02 MB used / 1,012 MB…

You may want to reach out to your account rep and have them poke support/development, I have had luck in the past doing this to get stuck cases moving again.

My production is still on 12.3 and I get the same list as bknight. 12.4 is out now but they did not add any additional attributes or default supported discovery tools. so that's not it.

By tech holidays do you mean vacations? The idea states "import a list of holidays into the calendar for WHD" that does not say anything about tech vacations. It mentions it would fix reporting but I am reading it as if they company is closed that day does not count as a day of the ticket being opened unless perhaps SLA…

That is actually a very nice positive change. I am surprised you did not announce that feature when you posted for the 12.1 RC. I think I will grab those bits and update our test instance.

Not sure if anyone is still following this but I have it working as far as pulling in the data, the issue I have now is how the fields inside WJA's DB show the model the model field shows up as for example HP LaserJet P2015 but I don't see a way to just have it show LaserJet P2015 having the HP screws that up as in WHD it…

To split the permissions you would need to create locations give the aproaite locations the appropriate permissions then assign your users to the correct location.

How long untill webhelpdesk is added to the list of Solarwinds products owned in the profile options?
-
So the initial reason we chose approval process for new hire and exiting employees instead of a parent/child ticket setup was parent/child was introduced in V12.3 I built the process in V12.1 so parent/child did not yet exist in the product. Now for the amount of time to build and test I really do not understand the point…

There is no way to add another prefix. There are two KB's that show how to reset the numbering or reset and start at a certain number but nothing about adding a prefix.
-
Yes, You can show different custom fields per request type.I thought you wanted multiple custom fields to build off each other which is something different. When you create the custom field you can tell it what request type you want it to be used in.
-
Just note if those are not officially supported changes through the CSS page in the setup they may get reset when you do an upgrade.

Is installing Java 7 manually still necessary if you are running 12.2 as this version and newer run on Java 7_45 already.
-
AMYD is correct you can only work from one tab at a time by design. Has to do with the old design language most of the program is written in Apple's WebObjects. This is something that has been brought up a lot and SW says they will change. They have started a migration to a new language but only for the FAQ section. Not…
-
You might be able to use an action rule to accomplish this.
-
Thank you for looking deeper into this. I am surprised you have not had more support cases for this issue.

The Tech username is a tech account which is local to the WHD database. That account is tied to a client account which should come from your LDAP. So changing the tech username does not change anything with the client account. So they log in with their LDAP credentials and since WHD remembers if you were in the tech or…

Custom fields are only assignable to request types, not users or user groups. There also is no way to build in logic you can upvote this existing feature request for that one( ). I don't know if you can somehow do that programmatically via powershell to figure it out and past in to a custom field.
-
There was no additional functionality just its now working and supported.

I am seeing 12.7 there its not the RC 3 anymore its the final build I believe the version is 12.7.0.407
