Currently this is not possible. However there is an open feature request here (http://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/1892) that I believe is what you are asking for. If it is please give it an up vote.

Also note you are unable to send emails to techs nor create tickets for reservations. This was a huge limitation for us when we did out test pilot. It was a couple of years ago but there have been no improvements to that part of the application since.
-
I do not believe so. The reservation system is very limited as of now. You tech needs to tell the user when they find out the reservation is made.

I am higher Ed. We have 4 main tech groups, the labs, central it, web services, and admin computing. We have about 12 buildings. The request types are based on standard types of user questions that each department came up with as well as a few having custom fields. Maybe some more specific questions and I can assist you…

Ticket approvals are a feature. For example you could set up a ticket type for purchasing something then the approvals would go to a manager or purchasing agent for approval/denial, another example is my company uses it as a process to create accounts for new hires each step goes to a person so first is create network…

So the users would be able to log In for the Cache Time Period that is set up in the individual LDAP connection. The issue would be I don't think they would just auto "convert" to local accounts for password reset the user would not be able to log in until the next sync with AD. You would likely be recreating all of the…

Cant do this now, but I think you may want to look at this feature request. You can comment on it but since its status is "What were working on" you can no longer up/down vote it.
-
Java does not need to be installed before starting, WHD installs a local self managed instance of Java.
-
We also have struggled with this. I have created approval processes for each incoming and outgoing employee as well as change of status. The issues include that things must go in order of the approval process which is sometimes good and sometimes not. There is not a way I have found to enable easy way of changing of the…

Currently this functionality does not exist. I believe this existing feature request is what you are looking for, if it is please upvote.

Yes a user can just reply to the email and it will appear as new note on the ticket and will trigger emails to the tech. I have never tired emailing for a tech note but I would assume it would also work. The big FYI on this one is do not change the subject line as that is how it parses the messages.
-
Once the user creates a ticket that is assigned to have an approval process with it must get assigned to a tech, that tech does not have to be the approver. The approver either needs to use the email that you show or log into the CLIENT side of the interface to see their approvals. If the approver is a tech you need to…

The API document you posted is for the 12.1 release and has 0 instances of https. The API did change some in the 12.3 release and the newest version of the API guide is located here Web Help Desk REST API Guide and it has many instances of HTTPS for the auth part. Also note there have been no other major API changes since…

At this time there is nothing that can be done. If someone goofs and they are a sole approver or have enough weight to approve for a cab you are screwed. There is no tech permission, no override of any kind. I just talked with peter.kruty about this very issue a couple of weeks ago. Action Rules will not help you for this…

Go to Setup --> General --> Authentication --> its under show login message. You can make the text say anything you would like.

Are you saying you still need to purchase a license you just don't have access to the web licensing portal?
-
In 12.5.2 it is necessary. I just did the upgrade from 12.5.0 to 12.5.2 and just added an extra T to the end of all the techs usernames then they have to create passwords to secure the tech accounts. They can still log in with their normal network ID that does not change.
-
I do not believe there is a way to hide a type from the tech. You would need to delete it.
-
Most of the code is written in WebObjects, the new features are written in Spring which they started migrating to a couple of years ago. The API is a rest type.
-
While it is possible to run on your personal instance of Tomcat by default WHD installs its own contained instance. Have you checked the firewall to ensure the correct ports out open inbound?
-
You would likely have to call the WHD rest API programmatically from Powershell. Here is the API guide Web Help Desk REST API Guide
-
WHD does support additional applications. You would go to the discovery connections --> click new --> for database type choose Database table or view. --> select the type of DB used by your application. Fill out the db info and the attribute mappings info. your applications DB must be able remotely accessible and you may…

[S] means the tech is outside of working hours. This only shows if you have working hours set up for each tech in their profile.

Basically the reservation system is extremely basic, there is no reporting, no way to link reservations to a ticket, thus no reporting that way. There are a number of open enhancement requests you may want to take a look at Web Help Desk Feature Requests

I brought this up with support but just so its documented here also I brought up that the notes on the client side UI are no longer color coded. This was previously brought up by another user in the 12.7.0 RC thread as well. Also that the save button does not save a user note only the plus sign. This is a change that could…

We are on 12.4 and have no issues with IE 10 or 11.
-
What are you attempting to achieve by doing this? You can change the edit permissions for each individual field without hiding the entire thing.
-
When you say you changed the password to your DC, do you mean you changed the password for the AD service account or you changed the password of a user in your AD structure? Changing the password or disabling a normal user should not affect anything. If you have changed the password of the AD lookup account and the cache…

You can disable it, but I do not believe you can change its functionality.
