  • This is a must have for us. We have numerous custom pollers setup where we would like to poll on much greater intervals than the interval setup for a device or interface and we also have a few custom pollers that we would like to poll more aggressively than the device/interface the poller is associated with. It makes no…
  • Support is telliing me that the alert states are no longer used and should be ignored. I'm not believing what they are telling me based on how the alerts are actually working and when alerts are being trigged. They have since closed my case out as answered. Unfortunately, this is the kind of support you get with…
  • I am also experiencing the same issue for the manually configured call paths. We have 20 manually configured call paths and randomly, Solarwinds will report a few of them as misconfigured (random paths as well as random time periods). I run thru the reconfiguration of the Voip monitor and it clears the problem up for a…
  • this is an old post but I am curious if this issue has been addressed. Can we set different polling intervals for different universal device pollers?
  • Kathy / Solarwinds, Have you received any clarification on your questions for the "alert State"? I have opened a ticket with the Solarwinds Support group and they have not been able to answer my question regarding what the alert state represents. I have alerts with a state of 2 which trigger their respective actions which…
  • I have tried to filer/group Applications based on server type and other custom properties but i have not been able to. The only way I have been able to filter the like applications is to create the same applciation name for the servers that we are monitoring. For example, if i have a SQL Publisher and 4 subscribers with…
  • I've done some testing with the prognosis tool and felt that it gave you all the information you could ever want to know about your call manager servers and the rest of the IPT environment. The two drawbacks that we came across was the price (compared to other competitors) and the fact that it gave you too much…
  • I agree with the database integration. It's a pain trying to keep custom properties managed in two seperate locations.
  • Has this issue been addressed in the latest solarwinds release? We are currently running 8.5.1 sp3 and are experiencing the same issue. I tried the syslog messages recommneded in the last post; however, these were not recognized by our application.
  • Andy, I understand you don't have a firm date yet, but how about a tenative or "estimated" date?
  • I'm curious is if anyone has found a workaround for status polling using SNMP rather than ICMP. It's easier said than done to convince a customer or vendor to allow ICMP requests through their firewall or on a public IP address when their security policies prohibit such traffic. This should be considered by Orion and added…
  • I'm experiencing this same issue. I have two seperate instances of Orion running and i can assign the poller on one server but not the other. The custom poller was setup with the same variables but I am recieving this error when assigning nodes to it. Anyone find a fix to this?

  • If you have switches that run a newer IOS revision (12.2 or greater), you can configure the IP SLA's on those devices.
