If I recall correctly, I've seen this happen when you install the agent, it reports to the LEM, and then sometime after that the agent's entry is deleted from the LEM appliance. When the agent reports after that, the LEM generates this error.

Did you ever get a resolution to this? We're having the same problem here, tried the things mentioned (certificate regeneration), no joy...

This looks like the protocol handler script that has been up for at least a couple of years; unfortunately I was never able to get it to work... has anyone else had success with it?
-
That sure would have been useful in the original release. I downloaded the package the last week in June and it wasn't in there. Please understand that some of us have to go through a Change Approval process, then we get a finite amount of time to make a change, and when something goes wrong it makes us look bad. I'm much…

Out of curiosity, how does a product get released when documentation to use its features isn't ready yet?
-
Yup I thought of that too. A while ago I discovered that putting the ${AlertName} into the alert text was helpful for debugging.

This seems like faulty logic. I'm paying for a 10Mb circuit, and I'm only going to be able to Transmit or Receive at a maximum of 10 Mb. You can't combine them to get 20 Mb going either way, so calling it 20 Mb is a misnomer. Not to mention, when you add the chart item, Solarwinds even calls it "Rx + Tx" implying that the…

Thanks Garreth. Unfortunately I had tried restarting the appliance without success. I worked with SW support for over an hour and ended up having to find and purge corrupt data in the database. So far the new database structure is turning out to be slow and extremely error-prone. Reports run with the Reporting tool take…

Briefly. I notice that if I leave the AIR LEM console open, not only does it cause my workstation CPU to remain high, but the LEM VM is high as well. For example, last night I left the AIR console open overnight. The LEM VM itself ran at around 60% - 70% CPU from the time I opened it until the time I closed the console…

No kidding. The question was, why doesn't it also support semicolons?
-
Thanks... is this in the documentation somewhere? I can't find it in either the NPM Administration guide nor the SAM Administration guide...

Here's what I'm doing: - Select Home > Manage Nodes > Add Node - Select type in hostname (FQDN) - Select WMI and ICMP - Select credentials - Next The volumes and memory are listed correctly, but only the Packet Scheduler is listed for interfaces.

Thank you!

This is apparently still not fixed in 10.6 final. When will it be fixed?

Gives a new meaning to When Things Go Sideways...

Thanks. Unfortunately the Alerts section only shows current alerts; the system has since been rebooted and come back up, so the alert is no longer in effect and doesn't show up.
-
An interesting idea... except that a /20 network contains 4094 usable host IPs. I've seen the slowdowns that can happen with a lot of entries in User-Defined Groups (see also Spyware Sites discussion in another thread) so I'm not sure if that might not create another problem...

The interval isn't the problem -- the server rebooted yesterday and it shows the last reboot as March 24th.

They look like they're of this pattern, dating back to 3/17/2013 and mostly (but not all) 0KB files: SolarWinds.APM.Discovery_[#].log SolarWinds.APM.ProcessExplorer_[#].log

I've got a faxing service that relies on some 15 services running on two servers. Some of them run on one server, but come up on the other server if the service on the first fails. I've tried creating redundant service alerting through nested groups (an over-all group named FAXING SERVICE, for example, with a nested group…

It's a Cisco 3750 stack.

Thanks DanielleH !

Thanks. How would that alert look? I'm looking through the APM:Component properties, is it something like this? Trigger Alert when all of the following apply: Statistic Data Message is equal to Total number of appservers Statistic Data (Numeric) is equal to 30 Statistic Data Message is equal to Number of appservers…

Perhaps I am not being clear. There are 9 script output pairs in our SAM perl script. Using SAM, you can determine on each returned output what the Warning and Critical thresholds should be. However, there is no way to say "if Output pair 2's value is over 30, and output pair 9's value is < 1, then I want to generate an…

I see this... any way to get it to an actually date/time that it was booted?

In most cases, the pollers were newly assigned to the nodes, so I'm not sure why removing them and re-adding them would help (it didn't.) We run a production environment, so I can't simply shut everything down for 5 minutes.
-
We have only one poller. I guess I'll open a ticket.
-
Excellent, thanks!

Was this request from over 2 years ago ever implemented? We have need of the same thing (monitoring for 0K files).

It's a UserLogonFailure for a specific user, with Last Week in the time dropbox. It's like the record was written with the actual-time correct but the timestamp is wrong... UPDATE: This happens for any user specified for that timespan for UserLogonFailure.
