  • No strange characters. Interestingly, when I try to add a Directory Services group today, I get "Directory Services associated with the domain 'blah.local' is unresponsive." I checked the KB yesterday and the article that mentions this isn't helpful. If I wait 10 minutes and try to add a Directory Services group, I can…
  • We have upgraded to NPM 10.4.1 (which includes IVIM 1.5.0) and the problem persists.
  • Is there any update on this? We had been running the TriGeo appliance and had bought the "upgrade" to the SW LEM VM based partly on the word of the SolarWinds sales rep that exporting and importing of Groups and Rules would be easy. So far it has been anything but! None of the groups we created will import, and I have a…
  • When you write it like that I fully expect to see soon-to-be-produced episodes of... Agents of T.H.W.A.C.K
  • We started seeing these on our 3750 core switch stack today and had to shut off SNMP monitoring on the device because it was making the thing crawl. What (if anything) has been found about this regarding cause and resolution?
  • Any update on this? I used to have a hand-made job that would do the maintenance, but that has been failing for months.
  • That's what I forgot -- Node > List Resource, change from ICMP to SNMP. I don't suppose it could also be placed under Edit Node? That was where I was looking and seemed a bit more intuitive. Thanks for the help!
  • Thanks for the reply Jiri. The problem isn't so much that the feature has to be installed through Role Management in Server 2008 R2, but that the Kiwi installer goes alllllllll the way through downloading the installer, only to come back with the message that it has to be added in Roles. Very annoying to say the least,…
  • We're running at about 1.6 - 1.8 million per hour. The messages displaying in the console are bheind by about 11.5 minutes at the moment, I think it's trying to catch up.
  • I used the second option (pushing the install over top of the existing one) and that seemed to work. Thanks.
  • Ah, thank you! That's exactly what happened. Rather curious how it somehow became "Custom Range" when I know I had Last Day...
  • Thanks!
  • Thanks. This is actually LEM 5.6; when I click the gear to the right of the Rule you mention, then Edit, all I see is what is below. Not sure where you modified the criteria (or even what the criteria is, from what is below).
  • SAM 6.1.1 SAM Admin > Manage Templates > Shared Templates on Thwack > search for "space" (no quotes) > Change results to 100 > at the end "Windows Script Monitor - disk free space"
  • Not sure what the script looks like - can't import it.
  • Thanks!
  • Excellent, thanks!
  • I appreciate the offer, but we're not looking to spend a lot of money on training, just get some basic training information regarding a product for which we've paid a decent amount of money. There seems to be a dearth of information regarding best practices such a spreading the load for collectors so that one system isn't…
  • Thanks Acy. A bit riled, yes, because of what appears to be things that should not happen when software is tested well before being released. I opened a ticket with SW and their suggestion was to stop the Kiwi Syslog service, uninstall the software, then run the new version install. This didn't work either; the only thing…
  • Jiri, with all due respect, this is flat out wrong. I just upgraded from 9.4.0 to 9.4.1, with the Web Interface options unchecked and was prompted once again to install .NET 3.5. If I click NO, the Install stops and says it failed. If I click YES, it downloads, then tries to install, then I get this: I would be delighted…
  • IIS is not installed, however every single time I have to run the installer it tells me that the .Net Framework 3.5 is not installed (even if it was installed previously) and asks me if I want to install it. If I say No, the install closes and fails. If I say Yes, I have to sit through it downloading a 231 MB file, which…
  • Similarly I thought it used to list points you received for doing the monthly missions. I'm not sure where that is now, so no way to verify that they were received... ?
  • I'm following the Solarwinds documentation for installing ODP.net, which recommends going to their site and downloading... ? ("Solarwinds Technical Reference: Configuring and Integrating Oracle") When I download the Oracle client installer from the Customer portal and try to run it, a couple of DOS boxes pop up briefly and…
  • Thanks. This solves one problem, but the Components are still listed out of order on the right side. Guess it's time to open a ticket.
  • Port scanners simply check that the port is open. I actually telnetted to the port and received the MS Exchange welcome banner after sending an ehlo, so I'm sure that the connection can be made from the polling server, which is why I'm rather puzzled why the poller doesn't seem to be working...
  • Excellent, thanks!
  • It was an issue with the node; C: ran out of space. Thanks!
  • Has anyone ever gotten this to work? I've set up an Application monitor that scans the Windows event log for specific event codes. When these occur more than twice, the Application monitor goes to critical. I have an alert set up that's supposed to pass the text of the Event Log message in the e-mail but it doesn't work.…
  • I'm glad to hear you say that. How would I get the upsAdvBatteryCapacity (OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.2.2.1) Custom Node Poller to show its statistic on the map, for example? I can drag the CNP over to the map and make a nice icon, but all it shows me is "Up" status. I've gone through the listing of variables in the Network…
  • Took me a while to get back here but it looks like it's working now. Thanks!
