My company dodged a major incident on a cool late October evening several years ago. Most of the IT team had been out at at local establishment eating and enjoying the evening. At about 9:30 PM as the last of us headed towards our cars, we observed smoke coming from the basement beneath our DC. It turned out that an old…

Thank you for the article. I am OK with devops, but that is where I draw the line. Devsecops is a term used by some folks. I think it is a bit ridiculous to add sec to a process that already should include security.

I just found we have the same issue. We are on version 6.7.2 of LEM and we have found we have plenty of 6.5.x and 6.6x agents on our servers despite Node Management showing version 6.7.2. This is frustrating!

Thank you for this article. I found the article to be well written and informative. The cloud does not always save a company money!

I worked for a bank in the past and we blocked the blog category. There can be a lot of content that is not safe for work. Accurate Internet filtering for all people in a organization is tough. Even the best web filter products require a tremendous amount of overhead. Classifications for sites are frequently incorrect and…

Podcasts on the commute is a great way to keep up, learn, and earn CPE credits. I like the Security Weekly offerings, Security Now, Sans Daily Stormcast, and TWiT. I also visit these sites daily: http://www.securitywizardry.com/radar.htm and home - all InfoSec news In addition to technical manuals and study guides, I have…

Thank you for the update.

Thank you, this is not urgent. The HTML5 console has current events, but I only use nDepth. We are hesitant to run the latest version as we have had issues with the upgrades in the past.

Some flexibility with the license would be very handy. Thank you!

Thank you for the Varonis File Monitoring connector.

You may need to contact support if you have not already done so. This link is to the troubleshooting guide for a 64 bit SEM agent, but I don't think this will help you much unless you have a port related issue. https://support.solarwinds.com/SuccessCenter/s/article/Troubleshoot-LEM-agent-connections-64-bit

I wonder if the licence warning is related to this issue?

Contact support if you have not already done so. We had a similar problem with the 6.4x to 6.5 upgrade. Support quickly identified the problem for us and replaced toolindex that was corrupted during the upgrade.

You can try resetting the agent or removing and reinstalling the agent. * On the affected host, stop the LEM Agent Service. * Go to the Agent install directory (C:\Windows\System32\ContegoSPOP or C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ContegoSPOP) and delete the spop folder * Start the service. That should put the Agent back in a "first-run"…

I advise posting a screenshot of your rule.
