I also looked in the ConfigMgmt database but didn't see any tables that looked like SysObjectID. Is this database centrally located at SolarWinds and does the NCM application somehow query that database for vendor…

I'm not entirely sure what you mean with the port/host coming up. When I mentioned that the only way to communicate with this device is over the ppp interface, I meant to give a little more detail. The mere fact that I can actually query this up/down status information means that the ppp interface is up and operational.

I found the issue and I do not think it has anything to do with SolarWinds. The SNMP server that we are using on our product net-snmp. We were using version 5.1.2 of the SNMP daemon (snmpd). We upgraded to the latest (5.4.2) and it resolved this issue. Thanks for all who offered advice.
