  • How big is your database? SQL 2005 Express has a limit of 4GB. If your database is close to or bigger that is probably your problem. Chris My Database comes in at about 2.5GB. I don't keep data for very long due to the 4GB limit. We are in the process of purchasing MSSQL for our Enterprise, a very expensive venture that is…
  • Thanks Spartacus, That was the info I was looking for. Dunno why I was unable to find it in the help file when it is so obvious.
  • I had a similar issue with the Custom MIB Poller. I have to restart the Custom MIB Poller service to fix the issue. After talking to tech support, it is very possible that my configuration (SQL Server is on the same server) could be causing the issue. I have a scheduled task to restart the service once a day. It only take…
  •  Unfortunately no, I have not. Every so often I have another go at it but thus far, no success.
  • We have hundreds of 3Com switches deployed in over 150 sites across the city and I con honestly say that this is a problem that we have never seen. On the whole, the 3Com switches we have have proven to be very reliable and very good value for the dollar.
  • Thanks for the advice. I realize this is a Windows "feature" and not a SolarWinds problem. I recall having tried using IP when Set these alert actions up in the first place without success. I will have to take another look at our access lists. Perhaps I am blocking something. Cheers. Terry Pelley Network Analyst…

Then using the Direct link account on the SW website the email recipients can simply click and view the report. This actually works very…
  • Thanks for the advice. I got it to work. Terry Pelley Network Analyst Ottawa-Carleton District School Board Ottawa, Ontario Canada
  • I don't have the direct link account enabled. I did some time ago as an experiment but have since turned it off. I am logged in using an account with administrative access to the server but still get prompted to log in again when I click on one of the items in the map.
  • On the SS3 series of switches there is a syslog feature. The switch will send an event to a syslog server if a unit in a stack fails. The problem with this for me is that I have 156 remote sites to manage. Each with a minumum of 2 switches. The time it would take to configure each stack is prohibitive, hence the decision…
  • I am also setting monitoring on a number of 3Com nodes with multiple switches in each stack. I have been struggling with the set up. When I enter the management IP I see all of the units in the stack, but the only way I can see to monitor them is to monitor the Management port of each unit. The problem with this method is…
