• I would suggest writing up a script which looks for the right response after you send an EHLO and the necessary sending details on port 25 and popping that in your SAM.

• Yes - the stock SAM's in content exchange are pretty decent. You might encounter some corner case which the SAM wont shout about, but that's to be said of anything really.
