* Multi task? * Catch up various YouTube subscriptions with a steady balance of entertainment and industry vids? * Watch a SolarWinds training video on Network Atlas design and presentation?

Wait a second... You mean customers could crash the ThwackCamp party sans invite???

I have found that if you list the subnets out separately you will get a better result. Example: 10.10.0.0 - 10.10.0.255 For me this works better than: 10.10.0.0 - 10.10.255.255 I have setup scans using both means and the latter would miss too many nodes.

Interesting. I poked around my installation which is running most current version and I cannot replicate. What version are you running?
-
Ingress = Traffic In. Egress = Traffic Out. This is an expected result. Does that answer your question?

Solarwinds is incredibly intuitive. So you are in good shape. Much of the tasks to make your boss happy you can break off into small manageable efforts. This would be my strategy: 1. Since NPM is your foundation this is where you start. Make sure you are current with your licensing and then upgrade to the latest version.…

Thanks for the Sunday update! Understood on the delay. As long as we know that they are coming it's all good.

Huzzah! Huzzah! Kudos for realizing 6-digits! I have been a fellow Thwackster for a few years now but I started putting my nose to the grindstone last November, and now I am slowly seeing that 6-digit horizon too. :-) I think once I reach that milestone I am going to take a little break from being a point hoarder. SAP has…

Question 1: What polling intervals do you use to successfully complete polling? Question 2: How many nodes do your individual UDT pollers handle? Total nodes is 2,400. However, we only focus on about 1,400 of them and 3,200 ports. Question 3: What physical resources / components (I'm assuming the manual is referencing…

Start off with the canned reports that come with the LEM software and you will have addressed almost all of the low hanging fruit. But as I said in another post re: LEM, define your scope! Are you looking at systems? Network? Applications? Threat detection? All or some of the above? Define your scope and then chart your…

We're you dealing with VMware??? lol

Wow! I thought a bigger deal would have been made with this
-
I believe you & I spoke about this a couple of months ago. Can I re-apply? :-)

Re: A Sweetheart Deal - 1000 Thwack Points! We've had NPM in place for nearly a century now (or what feels like it). I was finally able to get NCM for y2016. My network topography is nothing elaborate: 40 WAN locations or various sizes and technological footprints. I am monitoring over 2400 nodes with most of them being in…

I created a custom poller using SNMPwalk eons ago. I shared this feedback during a UX session with one of the PM's when they were specing this feature out. The reason being was because we were having VPM access issues (as we are a growing company). I also set up alerts for whenever we reached 90% capacity on active VPN…

I know this doesn't really help much but this may become an opportunity to look at how your network is configured and see if there are any possibilities for optimization. We are going through a similar exercise at my company now. Not directly because of exceedingly long existing SolarWinds Discovery cycles, but we are…

I'm your huckleberry! Sign me up!!! :-)

Right now I am struggling with auditing compliance. Who has changed what and when? I would suuuuuuure love to get O365 audit logs into LEM for SIEM integration.

I recently dealt with a similar issue. I had multiple VMware nodes not polling, and many that were. After much trial and error this is how I fixed my problem: . TLS was disabled in Internet Options on the polling NPM server. I enabled it and got it started. I can now hit the API pages via IE on that server, when I wasn't…

Ya know... I had a very similar thought to this.

Ping me next Wed. I am vacation until then. I'll have something for you

...And then post here so the rest of us can benefit from your efforts. :-) And you will be showered with Thwack points as your reward.

mikesky me likey!!!

Do you have the URL? I tried Thwack.jive-mobile.com and it didn't work.
-
Congratulations! Your achievement is an obvious reflection to your dedication. I agree, Solarwinds is fun to play with and learn, and Thwack is a great resource for just about everything.

IBM Flashsystem A9000/A9000R I'm your huckleberry!

Yes, but not very well. Would love some guidance and recommendations on how to do so.

I've run into similar challenges when I attempted to setup auditing on my VM Hosts. I wanted to be alerted whenever someone create a new server, deleted a server, stopped a server, updated passwords, etc. I escalated to both VMware and SolarWinds to help me with this and they were not able to identify the Syslog entries…
