I could really use this functionality in the EX environment! I'm half cisco, half Juniper, with lots of virtual switches/chassis. This is a major hole in my monitoring.

Would LOVE to have this!

one note of insight.... I usually don't need to do a full IIS service restart to get my web site to respond. I have been recycling the default app pool. So, within IIS manager, under application pools folder, right-click on DefaultAppPool and hit recycle. It's instantaneous and more often than not will bring back the web…

I am also needing to restart my web server several times a day. I am running 9.5, sp2. I have just installed the hot fix, and now one of my maps immediately gets this error: Error: The communication object,…

i am seeing this same behavior. I restared the service as specified and still no good.

Add me to the list of requestors. Dal, those were some excellent suggestions.

Hotfix 2 seemed to fix my issues. I can now click on a node without netflow installed and it comes up without crashing. That is one of several netflow bugs now fixed.
-
That did the trick!!! It would be nice if that "control disabled" piece could be programmed as an option by Solarwinds instead of manually creating the monitor on the router. Perhaps that would be a good new feature request. Thank you so much for your help!

That did the trick! I did a rediscover task, and then re-ran the enable energywise script. Orion is now seeing it as enabled. I already had all the interfaces being monitored, so that wasn't it. I guess rediscovering the node first is the key. Thank you so much ljenkins!

any progress on this? It's been a week later and my website is still broken.

I have a 3560 PoE with energywise now enabled. Orion refuses to see it as even running on that switch. I even walked through the manage nodes "enable energywise" wizard and it showed my that the script ran successfully. I have some IP Phones in use on some of the ports, and i have a power level 8 set on a per port basis. I…

"You can also have your own script periodically updating the linked background picture on your web server's hard disk in a folder accessible to the website process (so the website process needs at least read access rights). Then set the linked background URI to the fixed path on the server." I would LOVE to have this…

yes, i typically add dynamic labels to the maps for such things as IP/hostname of devices, and then add lines for the individual network connections, which I then assign to the actual interfaces so I can see up/down, current utilization, etc.

The device would be a server at the third party environment listening on port 22, or SSH. Again, this is all behind firewalls, so the only port that is open is 22. There are no other ip sla operations going to this device. I do have an APM set up to monitor this port. However, I am really looking for SLA's from our branch…

SP2 definitely helped the speed issue with the maps.

I successfully upgraded from 9.5.1 to 10. I needed to call support about one bug though. After I upgraded, my menu bars were completely missing from my web site, which makes navigation very difficult. Please note that I have 2 additional web servers, and I don't have web services running at all on my pollers. I had been…

I found them in the database and deleted the rows using MSsql managment studio. They are in the table "dbo.MapStudioFiles". If you open the table , the second column is FileName. Scroll through and find "Netobjects\imported\<nameofimportedpic>". I then highlighted the entire row and deleted it. They are now gone from…

Yes, I have copy/pasted pictures of circles and squares into my maps, but it would be nice to create them with native tools. You are right about the curved lines, I'm not sure why I've never noticed them before, with the countless hours I've spent in Atlas. Thanks!

running version 10, sp1

I just applied the patch to 2.2 as well. I am still having the same issue.

We also have a wireless controller and thin AP's that dont' seem to register. I get the Wireless device was not found in database! error message for the list of thin access points. We are running NPM 9.5 sp4. Our wireless controller is a BlueSocket 2200, our APs are BlueSocket 1540 thin APs. I assume there isn't device…

Ah, interesting. That might just be a good workaround. Thanks for the suggestion! It would still be nice to have a built-in resource to do this as opposed to using report writer. Thanks again!
-
I had this same problem as well with 10.1.1, additional web server. I actually needed to shut down the IIS admin service to completely kill IIS, then ran the config wizard successfully.
-
That's great that my first feature request is on the roadmap at least. Now the next question... ETA? Secondly, I have already directly worked with your dev. team on the smart traffic feature. We have done this in our configuration and it helped us tremendously. Our netflow web response is faster than ever. However, we…

Is this feature on the roadmap? I too would very much like the ability to have APM change node status color on the network map.

Been using solarwinds for 10+ years, so I have created many maps in atlas. I always try to add visio stencils when I can so I can get get a true life picture of the switch/router/FW/chassis I'm dealing with without needing to drill into nodes. My personal opinion is that detailed network maps look far better with the…

The account i am using already has "customize view" rights. When I log into Atlas, I am still getting: "You are not allowed to edit maps. Try to log in with different account."
-
still no good. Perhaps I need to open a ticket with support. thanks for trying tho.
-
Thanks for the response. I thought of this as well, and I might just do this workaround as you suggested. It would still be nice to do this double check of things before it set a monitor to warning and created an event.
