I agree. More of these devices are happening and not enough available in SNMP to do the job properly.

This issue appears to be something that a lot of people have an interest in so we can get specific devices coming up with more specific Machine Types. This long list of posts makes it a little hard to know what has already been incorporated into the unreleased cfg file and what hasn't so you may end up getting more than…

I'm having the same sorts of issues with adding AD groups. Rather than just delete, add and test until it finally works with an unknown number of attempts (there doesn't seem to be any reason why one group works and another doesn't) is there a database check that can be done to determine whether an AD group add has…

Thanks for your response Brandon. I had found this one as yet another source of the information (for the NPM/APM/NTA/IVIM products anyway), but I still have no feedback on how the version numbers relate to service packs or hot fixes. Does NPM 10.1.1 (on the website as the latest version) mean 10.1 sp1 and if so will this…

I've tried the configuration approach described here and it does not appear to work in my environment. The Performance Counter Monitor, Process Monitor-SNMP and Process Monitor-WMI all appear to work when Browsing for Components although processes are available by SNMP anyway so I'm not sure what access the Process…

The above post on 5/20/11 requested that these MIBs be added to the MIBs.cfg file. I downloaded this file today 6/9/11 and these OIDs are not included. I'd appreciate it if someone could comment on how long it should take to get things added (I thought the MIBs.cfg file is updated/released weekly??) but as the current…

Mav, I think the lack of documentation for installing your products into an existing environment appears to discriminate against repeat customers, and especially larger ones, who often have many of your modules already and who are probably monitoring lots of production equipment. These customers generally have have less…

I'm trying to get access to the following for a Cisco ASA5510 and they aren't in SW. I'd appreciate it if you could add this in. 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.392.1.3.26 CrasIPSECNumSessions.01.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.392.1.3.35 CrasSVCNumSessions.01.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.392.1.3.38 CrasWebVPNNumSessions.0I'va attached the MIB file that includes these…

An old thread but maybe one that needs refreshing. I'm tring to find a satisfactory way of determining what versions, service packs and hot fixes are installed in our SolarWinds environment. We have NPM, Additional Polling Engines, APM, NTA, NTA for APE, NCM, Additional Web Server, Kiwi Syslog & Engineers Toolkit. FoE…

I'd like to be able to look at OIDs for IBM physical servers (not blades) at 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.159 and below. I've attached the MIBs that I want to add although more may be coming when I can find them.

In Jan 2011, in this thread, I raised the issue of being able to update the SWDiscovery.cfg file in mySolarWinds environment without having to wait for a major release to do it for me. The response from SW was that this is being looked at. Yesterday I attended a SolarWinds seminar in Sydney Australia and spoke to the head…

Hi alterego, I ran into you at Sydney and I do like some of the things you've done with SAM. Rather than do a MIB Walk I've attached an export of the undp's that I use to monitor these enclosures in our environment so I'm not sure if this is a reasonable option to identify some of the OIDs to look at. We've got about 60…

Neither this thread or any UDT documentation that I have seen provide any detailed information about installing UDT into an existing environment (NPM 10.1, APM 3.5, NTA 3.7, NCM 6.0, IPSLAMGR 3.5.1) running on 7 servers (App, APE x 3, WebCons, DB, Syslog). We will most likely be monitoring < 25,000 ports. We have unlimited…

No posts on this one for a while. I'm in the same place with APM Alerts in that little meaningful detail is shown on the Alerts page. I'm able to construct an email with lots of variables in it that provide lots of info to whoever get it BUT when an APM template may be applied to >300 nodes better info should really be…

I'm actually not sure what this post means. Does it mean that most/all of my comments are already logged as issues and being addressed in a future release? What does capturing others mean? If these are on the list when might we expect to see them appear in a release?

I've had a pretty good look around and couldn't find anything that did what I'm looking for. There is one post in your referenced list that deals with Active Alerts but it is pretty old and has a post stating that it throws errors in later versions. From the age of the post and the error I think it is a reasonable…

Sorry I've taken so long to reply to this. The alert is working fine in that it is triggering properly and showing up under alerts and for alerts for the server in question so I don't think there is any issue with the alert logic. The problem is that the Trigger Actions don't seem to be happening ie. write to NPM event log…

I'd agree with that as I often have the same issue where tables rows are selected in a view but the order of display is not configurable and it really needs to be if the resource is to be displayed in a sensible and consistent manner. Cheers Tim

I'm surprised it took me as long as it did to find someone else asking this same question. It's now pretty old and hasn't had a reply even though this is pretty important if you want to export data to a spreadsheet or something and instead of having a column of figures with the same units you get a column of text including…
