In short: Yes, please (second posting). I just decided to to anouther round of upgrades and patches to prod. Even though all of my past SolarWinds upgrades have gone wonderfully and I don't have a large architecture I expected at least some production crippling bug or something during the upgrades....nope! I'd like to give…

I'm not sure when this changed, but It appears to now be "WHAT WE'RE WORKING ON" But I can't see any more info on What We're Working on for NPM (Updated Nov 25, 2019)

I'm also having issues with hanging jobs for awhile. I've found that restarting the "Orion Module Engine" service (via the Solarwinds Service management GUI) fixes my issue for awhile. It takes about 5 minutes for the hung scan jobs to resume after the restart. Faster than the repair/reinstall, if it works. Also: If it…

I would like this enhancement as well, as it seems that some devices "support" SNMP, but just don't really follow the rules. You still want to be able to poll them for data over SNMP. If nothing else, if there was a used editable area where you could manually add a "SYSDESCR" and "SYSOBJECTID" to force Orion to recognize…

Its amazing how, when nicely presented and simply described in this way on a massive Thwack thread of people begging for a data warehouse for 5 years, I completely understand this and will probably never forget it. Every other time I've tried to do or learn something related to understanding formal music notation it all…

"How do you react when it is too late and the vendor is knocking on your door" - I've seen it happen at multiple places usually with Microsoft products, usually because Microsoft is "everywhere" and been around for awhile, but also: - The place is primarily a "Microsoft shop" (or "xyz shop") that has high vendor lock-in…

I would like that, If I'm reading it correctly... if you made a dashboard in perfstack it would do it....but then you have to make that very specific dashboard. Not something I enjoy throwing together for people for a quick glance at a server, but more for deep troubleshooting across many systems. It would be nice to have…

Since there's so few votes, how about "...in *MOST* fields..." . Basically the main search fields in the NPM,NCM,IPAM,UDT,etc. summary and admin pages for managing nodes. Places where you enter hostnames to search, because copy-paste of hostnames is a normal thing to do, and sometimes there's spaces in the copied/pasted…

Yes please . There are some things that just keep turning red/yellow and if it's not a data anyone cares about it's very frustrating to not have a way to just disable it. Its also annoying when you try to make "higher level dashboards/reports" and there's always something on the board that's red and having to say "this is…

You keep hitting the "enter" key all the time too, eh?

A data warehouse would bring all the boys to the yard And they're like, Its better than none They're tellin' you, its better than none If you build one, we won't mind if you charge.

I've always toyed with the idea of having a "robot" phone associated with the monitoring system to send periodic emails + texts, etc to (from the montioring system) and have the phone reply back to try to get a "real live check" of how well the carriers are routing texts/messages (or if they are queueing mesages). I know…

"To my mind, LEM could be your most used "pane of glass",...." For what it's worth: I agree, with some caveats I ran a monitoring system with an event manager that collected events from several different monitoring systems. I used it as a single pane of glass and it was literally the first tool I checked when things went…

It would be nice to be able to use the "Automatically share alert data with other SolarWinds products and subscribers" option in the Orion Advanced alert manager to send Orion alerts to LEM as events.

Cant get past the first page, throws "There was an error on your page. Please correct any required fields and submit again.Go to the first error" errors in IE 11 and Chrome 62 even though things are selected on both questions and it will not allow to progress to next page

For what it's worth: She rarely regrets her purchases. I occasionally regret my own and my recommendations to others. Maybe if I added a few more columns to my spreadsheet....?

I have ... never used this functionality before I've always manually assigned templates, hand disabled components... I've never heard of the slider existing and it working like this...I guess I should poke around the UI more . I read up on the docs and this is a nice thing to know . Thanks for the info! As an aside: I…

~$200/month for me as well. I'm on Verizon in the US. 2 cell phones. I've tried to be "sort of cheap" with my plan. $127.74/month gets me: - Unlimited calls (long distance as well. probably just within the US) - Unlimited send/receive SMS - I'm not too sure as I started out with 250 MB of data (shared between all phones).…

I'm also wanting some "extra" info in all of the account related settings (Orion user, Windows User, AD Groups). If you're voting for this, here are some other requests related to trying to keep track of account attributes:

I also concur that the initial request was too ambitious. We should probably first ask for a separate data warehouse that has only 1 extra day of historical retention, then work up from there.

"I spent all that time learning Perl, and now it’s good for not much" / \

Can't you petition your government to change it's contest allowance rules ...or just run for office? "...and I PROMISE that after I'm elected that the rules disallowing our CITIZENS....our FAMILIES....our COUNTRY... to fail to be considered for the Thwack monthly prize contests will be ELIMINATED. Thank you."

I took the initial request as "specifically in the recipients field" of the action. I also believe it would also apply to the "CC and BCC" recipients fields. I don't think you can put any there?

I would like it even if it wouldn't handle as much "load" as MSSQL. I'm having to move my database from a brand new physical system onto some older 4 CPU system because of MSSQL licensing costs Even though we only are running a version of MSSQL that can support/use 4 CPU cores their licensing model causes charges for all…

there is no happy

{gives Leon Adato an awkward hug}....I too have implemented and supported The BMC, The OpenView, and also The SCOM. They have such pretty brochures and they promise the world and on a few special places they can....but at a price. I too have ....fooled around .... behind their backs with The Free-ish Options to try to…

Updated to "WHAT WE'RE WORKING ON"

"have problems with setting a property value, then having the page automatically scroll down to the bottom of the screen": Yep, but it only seems to occur either with a specific property (with a drop down selector) or the first /second one I choose. I haven't done any troubleshooting on this (I'm using a recent Firefox…

Having enough reserves to continue, Microsoft Marketing makes a bold move and pushes out Windows 11 and the new Office 2016. Shipments arrive to population centers by the fastest means available: cart and donkey. Office is a handsome repurposed cardboard box containing a pencil sharpener, old post-its (OneNote), a larger…

"ISP's that negotiated no compete contracts with cities and municipalities to lock them in as they only wired provider for internet in their service areas" If the govt. rules these types of contracts as illegal/nonbinding I would at least feel a *little* better when (not if) the current definition of net neutrality is…
