  • It seems that in a recent update (not sure exactly which one) something was broken. I used to be able to use ${NodeName} or ${HostName} in my Trap Alert email alerts. Now I cannot. No matter whether I use these or ${IP}, I only get an IP address on the body or subject of my email alert.
  • I'm going to concur on this one. It seems really odd and is very inconvenient not to have a single console view for all reporting- basic, advanced, and trapping. I should have the same disposition options for any information which comes into my NMS. If I can't consolidate all my alerting and views into a manageable…
  • "Actually, this feature is present in the advanced alerts. It's not as simple as checking off some boxes but advanced alerts are capable of this." Can you give a pointer to how it's done?
  • I have some questions about this issue as well- I want to alert on any node being down, unless the router at the site is down, then I only want a single alert- for the router itself. If I have a site router down, I don't need a flood of email alerts to the on-call phone, I just need to have someone check on the site. I see…
  • This device is a Minuteman E2300 UPS, but it shows up as "unknown". See example: Machine Type DigiPower Manufacturing Inc. (no icon) Description SNMPIV Operating System IOS Image Unknown Hardware Physical The Minuteman OID's start with 1.3.6.1.4.1.30650 I have added these OID's into custom pollers along with some others,…
  • We're also struggling with this issue. Without seeing the IPs associated with the interface, we've resorted to monitoring each interface as a seperate node. The suggestion to add them as ICMP only nodes is a small step better, but not much. Adding it as another SNMP node as we did in the past also has issues with being…
  • We also have this problem. IE 8 is the browser we're using. It also happens whenever the page refreshes, and it does so often enough to be a serious annoyance. Is there some place we can set the refresh rate slower?
  • Does anybody else have a problem with differing models of Cicso 3750? Example: System OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.516 WS-C3750G-24TS System OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.516 WS-C3750-48P System OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.516 WS-C3750G-12S They are all showing up as the same OID even tho a "sho ver" clearly shows the difference. Other models of…
  • True parent / child relationships would allow you to properly suppress alerts. For instance, if a switch (Parent) goes down, all the servers (children) hanging off that switch are going to be down, and being informed about the 20+ servers along with being notified the switch is down makes for a very full email box. If the…
  • Can you post a reference to this procedure? I haven't found the process after looking in the Orion Admin guide. I would like to set all my nodes in a subnet with a dependency on the router so that they do not all alert when the router is down.
  • Has there been any movement on this request? I'm demo/evaluating NCM right now, and I really don't want to go through over 1000 routers and switches to manually create a baseline from each one. The whole point of a baseline is to create one bullet-proof config and then compare the network against it, right? I need to be…
