That was the concern I shared with the UX team as well. We would have to be careful with this "mass baselining" idea because as you pointed out, we don't want to accept a change and make it part of the baseline if it shouldn't be there.

So I was asked to gather the verbose log files for WPM and I found this link but after I run through doing everything, I'm not seeing the LOG files in folder. Any help you can give me would be great.

That would be great. We have several web-based applications that use Flash and monitoring these applications is huge for us especially with the holiday season coming upon us quickly so any answer you can provide would be great.

I'm in the same boat, with year-end, I'm like everyone else and slightly behind the 8ball so playtime is limited.

Okay, that is what I thought! Thanks for the sanity check!

You can go voice your thoughts on the Feature Request I posted within the NCM space as well if you would like. https://thwack.solarwinds.com/t5/NCM-Feature-Requests/Remove-the-need-for-Admin-Access/idi-p/597139#M2082

Yeah, I have an image that a user would click on to get to another page, I want the recording to do the same action since that is what the user does. I want the recording to be as close to what a real user would do to ensure the best user experience.

Thanks for replying Steven; the case number is 1239602. I got a reply from someone today who sent me this link to an article to use X/Y coordinate capture to log in. I think they missed what I was saying about having Flash installed but being able to get to the site with the IE and Chrome browser but when I go to do the…

Thanks again for the time yesterday! To anyone else that has downloaded Server Configuration Monitor (SCM) and hasn't talked with kbongi I highly suggest you do. It was great to have the key players behind this app on the line listening and responding to my questions and thoughts.

I think a "nice chart" would be good if possible.

Hey HerrDoktor, mjheaberlin is one of my users. The share he's trying to pull from is on a Linux box and he tried to connect to the box using a CIFS share on a Windows box. Is NCM only able to talk to Windows boxes?

Yeah it seems to impact more than just PerfMons. I had to to go back into all my schedules for reports and update the user to use. Before my time here, users were creating their own reports and therefore the reports were scheduled to run under there [Domain]\[UserID]. To correct this I created an Orion account and assigned…

I use Proxmox on my home lab, do you know if there is any support for that? I can also have one of my other VMs run something if need be.

That will be awesome bmrad !

Thanks martin.filip I just rolled out the RC on my DEV side. I'm trying to get the final approval to roll it out on the PRODUCTION side of things now. The bulk update to the baseline and the "Who Is" information is really nice in the RC!

That is something I was hoping I could hold off on. :-/

Some great notes HerrDoktor ! We have been looking at deploying an AWS as well and I think I might use some of your notes as talking points!

I've recently started watching these and they are amazing addition to my toolbox!

I know this post is about 2 years old, but I'm looking at doing the same thing. I was hoping there was a way to do it through a simple alert, but I think using the API may be the only way of doing it. KMSigma, do you have any insight into this topic? The idea I had was to take a node that has a status equal to "3" for 30…

Thanks rschroeder for the great information!

Thanks. What I did was I set up a new Configuration Profile and labeled it as "LocalAdmin". The PowerShell script I'm using is Get-LocalGroupMember -Group "Administrators" which seems to be working. Now I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to configure an alert that will trigger when a change is detected on just that…

Thank you! Hopefully, it helps others with their upgrades.

Thanks. The only issue I'm really seeing today is I'm having problems adding individual accounts using SAML. When I type a user name in, I get "Please enter a different userid" in red. Would that be because the user already exists in a SAML group?

The only problem with SNMP is that it doesn't pull the same stats as the agent, including volumes (at least from what I see). Right now, I'm just going through and adding the volumes we want to monitor on our NonProd systems as a test first. But it would be great if there was a way to do this in bulk easily without having…

Sweet! Thank you. I'll have to try that and report back.

No I'm not. Like I said, I'm very new to SQL and SWQL. Any help you can provide would be awesome.

The field is going to show up in the table for all your nodes because the Custom Properties is for all nodes. Now, you can assign the value only to the nodes you want in several ways. One way is to make an alert that will assign the value to nodes that equal a certain vendor.

My biggest issue is user experience. What I mean by that is my users will ask for something to be monitored without really fully understanding what they are asking for. If that be an email at 2 am or whatever, managing a user's expectations is definitely part of the job that most admins overlook. Sometimes you have to…

Have you looked at setting up dependencies? As an example, within my environment, I have groups set up for each of my remote sites. Within the dependencies, I have the main router for that site as the parent and then the devices below that router in a group set as the child. So if the router goes down, the devices below…

Sounds like a bug for sure. Are you selecting all the same types of Custom Properties? Such as are you trying to export just the Node custom properties or are you doing something like Node, Interface, and alerts?
