I've been using the feature for a little while now. This is what it looks like in SSMS its very useful and hands the power back to the DBA from the cluster administrator :-). I would like to monitor this effectively using solarwinds if possible.

Hi alterego that is exactly what I'm doing. It's a two node cluster with aprox 10 instances 5 active on each node. I monitor each via its own VIP but will not gather stats if there is more than a single instance monitored by appinsight.

Hi Alterego thanks for your help so far, I've have tried the sugestion to add the VIP to appinsight and but unfortunatly I keep getting: I've monitored the SQL instance and I can see the solarwinds account connect and start to run a number of processes but it seems to give up after a little while (we have 60+ databases…

I'm using appinsight with SAM 6 which works great for intances that are not clustered.
