  • this was the issue. When I removed the proxy in the firewall from http and https it worked. now I only need to figure out how to make it work with the proxy. thanks

  • this is a great article! Thanks for the help. I believe we are seeing these discards because we have a 10/100 port on our switch directly connected to a gigabit port on the ISP router. I will configure a gig port on our side and move the connection there. Hopefully this will solve the discard issue.

  • I also put in a service request with Solarwinds. it was a very quick and easy fix. Thanks to Solarwinds technical group for helping me out. All I needed to do is replace the "node id" in the alert script to " caption". Below is the screen shot of the entry. "on Node ${N=SwisEntity;M=Node.Caption"
