You're right. I setup an additional poller today and used wireshark to verify what traffic was passed. It's about 98% SQL calls from the additional poller to the database and 2% tcp/17777 traffic both to the main NPM server and to the additional poller.

Also, if you are running 8.4.x and trying to connect to the outside interface, you can no longer use Telnet. Only SSH, snmp, and HTTP will work to an interface with a security level of 0.

I've found that the only way to delete 'Transfer Status log entries' is to login as the username that created the job. If the job was created as admin, admin can delete them. If jjones created the job, only jjones can delete it.
