I agree, but to comment on acmtix comment. The whiteboard is for working out problems and if that information is to go further, or be retained for documentation it really should be put into Visio or some such application by someone that knows how to us it. But I have had people draw pretty much useless diagrams and come…

Nice - love the bobble heads

Click Create in the top portion of the Thwack screen and select custom content upload. If it's more than a simple upload (for example you want to discuss your process) you can create a document or blog post. Thanks for wanting to share - that's part of what makes Thwack great.

I thought I had replied, but it doesn't look like it. I'd be interested in testing this out. We have WHD supporting a customer and will be adding additional ones soon.

Very interesting - who'd of thunk having a cafeteria would help to "hack" a network. Thanks for posting - and the little bit of scare that you added to all of our days.

I've only used SolarWinds products for about 5 years and like you the first 2 or three I didn't spend much time on Thwack. Once I got my head around the value I began to spend a lot more time here. In the last year I've climbed up the ladder. The community is the best part, but the points keep you challenged as a reminder…

I just built a schedule on my server and told it to save to disk. Filled this in and tested and then saved. I did have to attach the report to this schedule. And I did get the report in my folder. I'm on version 12.01 so that could be different if you have a different version.
-
Let's check the obvious things first (you probably have, but let's get them out of the way) Do you have the exact path correctly represented to the destination folder? Does the Solarwinds account have access to that folder? Can you save the report to a folder local to the Solarwinds server? - Start there to test and then…

Nice, that's a big bear. Is that why you are working from home, the rest of the staff can't bear to be around you?

I've been using SolarWinds for about 6 years now and my experience has been positive and continues to get better. Going public can reverse that if the focus gets changed, but the success of SolarWinds now is built on the support (especially Thwack) from the company to the customer, but also from the customer to the company…

You are on the right track with the snmp walk. You'll need to try a different tool to peruse the device. Do you have the Engineers Toolset? Another option would be to use the Custom Poller building tool and manually browse through - I've found a lot of things doing that. I can help with that if you aren't familiar.

This is an interesting thread for fixing this issue. I've seen this in the past and will add the procedure to my "toolbox" (right next to that big hammer)
-
I hope it's fixed, I'm back up to 118th - my points appear correct.
-
My numbers have been all over the board - no pun intended - at one point I was showing as 124th now I'm 1218 - and showing about double my points.
-
I stay up to date most of the time, so I did upgrade to 12 when it first came out and then 12.0.1 when it dropped. I've had very little problems with Solarwinds over the years and find that most issues can be resolved by running the configuration wizard again, it does a very good job of bringing things back to proper…

Mine is 12.0.1

I've been running 12.1 for several weeks and it is very stable. Well worth the upgrade.

It will be interesting to hear the answer.

Yup they are everywhere. Just yesterday I got a call about my "vehicle warranty" - my newest car is an 07 - on my company phone. Frequently I get the pleasant cheerful voice congratulating me on being qualified to refinance my house. It's all a bit non stop. It makes sense that they would start targeting IT shops under…

Do you have SNMP setup on all of the devices - and the IP of the NTM allowed to access them?

We are currently evaluating similar things. Our previous architect wanted to monitor everything on everything - "in case" we ever needed the statistic. With 11000 switch interfaces monitored I'm arguing that we don't need to monitor everything. We have a new architect and I'm in discussions with him. I can make a case for…

I'm 40,000 points away and hoping it stays available - that is after you have "vetted" it and verified that it is sturdy and fun.
-
Drill down into the specific interface and you should have a panel called Interface Errors and Discards. If you don't have that panel click on Customize Page, near the top and add it. Click the + in the column where you want to add it Then select what you need here.

I'm new to Web HelpDesk - have you made any progress on this? I would be very interested in customizing my install.
-
That is a really broad question, can you narrow it down for us as to exactly what you are trying to get to?
-
I'm pretty new to the game so the first thing I actually received was the lab coat that I purchased at the Thwack store.
-
I would start with Netflow on the routers and I believe that will give you the information that you need. You can always add the switches later since the data in question will generally be that leaving the network the router will see it all. I'm guessing the IP SLA should be configured on the router as well, unless you are…

200,000 Congrats. It's not just about you, but what you contribute to the community. Thanks for being an asset around here and sharing with the rest of us.

I just checked in my system and all I had to do was add that to the page and it populates. I can't remember when I initially built if it took some time to populate. No configuration was necessary for me. Version 12 is very stable, I'd highly recommend upgrading them. I'm running Orion Platform 2016.2.100

Someone in the office brought Apple crumb pie and a blueberry pie.
