Excellent information, very, very helpful.

Nice, it looks nicer in your photos than it does in the store. Everyone that has gotten one has commented about how nice it is. Thanks for posting.

I mis-spoke using the term report. I actually built a live page using "Traffic & Percentage Utilization of each Interface - Node Detail Reports" What we are running into are remote sites with very high utilization of their bandwidth and I need to track it back to which device, on which port of the switch is causing all the…

Redact the private stuff and publish this on Thwack, looks like something others would appreciated.

Agreed, you have the option of using subnets or specifically listing i.e. 10.10.10.1/24 or 10.10.10.1-10.10.11.254, etc.

To me the key word of custom is the defining element. Home grown is obviously custom, but when an application is purchased that has customer defined changes built in would be a custom application. The distinction would be something that is built specifically for the individual customer.

Best practice is to give users "least privilege" permissions. Just what they need to do their jobs and no more. This can be extremely difficult to ensure with multiple servers, multiple file shares, multiple folders and files and multiple levels of all of the above. In addition users belong to different groups and…

That's a great question and I would expect HA to fully automate that process. (I don't believe that it currently does, but I would expect that as an end goal) For Example Palo Alto firewalls (just an example - I know others do the same thing) have an upgrade button that will automatically update the standby device, reboot…

Everyone in my company had remote access, but it was rarely used. Today, everyone works remotely, either from home or in the field.

I'm not currently using NCM, but see it probably down the line. This is a useful resource, thanks for posting it.

I do a lot of work with customers that have monitoring, but it's not meeting their needs. Unfortunately, when they call me in it's not just to take over, but to fix and clean up also. Having no existing baselines it can take some time to get things right.

SolarWinds Academy is one of the best parts of being a member of the SolarWinds community. I just wish the N-Central and Web Helpdesk products received the love that the Orion products do.

Our team, for the most part, does field work along with things we do in our respective offices. So, we have been equipped to work from anywhere all along.

I have used NetPath with clients. It can really save your bacon. I had a customer that could not connect to their cloud service and the provider told them that it was their network as no other users were experiencing. When I checked NetPath I found that on Friday they connected to the provider via a single router…

Thank you, this was very helpful - made the task a lot easier than digging for the information myself. Now to build an Alert for when the state changes.

Thank you, this worked just as designed - saved me a bunch of time in building it myself.

IPAM has officially made it to our short list of projects for next year. Hope the funding comes through.
-
We are currently not using IPAM and our spreadsheet is getting unwieldy, but with a purchasing freeze this year . . .

Thank you I'm a big fan of checklists and this is now added to my routine. Something similar would be great for upgrading / patching / rebooting / etc. of a Solarwinds installation with multiple servers. (I currently have a primary SW server, a SW DB server for SQL, a SW flat file server for netflow traffic and a secondary…

Nice helpful resources. Thanks for posting.

Nice, thanks for posting, I can see this being very useful in a Citrix environment. We have a couple of them and will look closely at this.

Document looks good. I've just opened it and scanned but I like the level of detail. I'll give it a try and note any differences that I see. Thanks for putting this together and sharing.
-
Nice article. I appreciate that SolarWinds products can be used for devices and types not native out of the box.
-
We are not currently using this tool, but I'm very glad that SolarWinds keeps updating it.
-
Good to know, and thank you. I like helping out so I have previously signed up for several Betas. I'll keep an eye out as I enjoy being a part of SolarWinds growth and development.

I get this:

I thought I was signed up for NPM Betas, but I get unauthorized when I try to get to that page.
-
Good information to have bookmarked.
-
Good to hear. I think an appearance "facelift" would be a great add. Even if there was no additional functionality I think the customers would feel like they were getting value in seeing something "new."
-
Nice, I'm adding these - additional tools are always helpful.
