Thanks wabbott you take such good care of us.

I do periodically. No, they are not part of Thwack. They get the reporting, but push it to the back burner because there haven't been complaints.

I really appreciate Solarwinds adding more vendor support. While I can get most anything I need by building custom pollers it's nice to have native support - it makes it easier for everyone (well except the coders that have to build it on your side - slide a pizza under their door occasionally, it'll keep em happy)

Good information, thanks for posting.

NPM 12.1 is great. Really appreciate that the updates keep coming.

I've been a part of the Solarwinds family for about 4 years now and have found most of those ideas an resources along the way. Nice article to bring them all together. That article should be a "welcome to Solarwinds" letter to every new user.

OK the question was "wish list" - some of yours are just plan and simple fantasy! Never mind, they are all fantasy!

Nice mission - I have IPAM on my "wish list" for this years budget, hope it happens.

This says it all

Awesome new features. I'm not the SQL guy, but even I get value from what this shows.

exchangegoddess A standard bottle is 750 ml - that's 25 ounces Just what size bottles are you consuming?

I know that "the cloud" is here to stay, but I also wonder how much this will be just like all the things in the past. "Let's build a big computer here in the office and everyone can use terminals to connect" - later "Hey, everyone has storage and processing on their desks, let's move some of this out to the end users and…

Back in the day when I was supporting the fiscal agent for a state medicaid I had to learn that there are two types of audit and the attitude for both had to be very, very different. There's the independent audit generally paid for by the company or their client. For those you want them to find things so that you can fix…

2 Words Zero Trust Look it up and start moving toward that .

Yup that speed sign probably is spying on you. With a little research you'll find that many of the "systems" along the roadways are also "pinging" against your bluetooth devices. I'm not exactly sure how and what they are doing, but they are definitely hitting against you bluetooth devices to watch you in traffic.

Your team is always so helpful and responsive. Thank You!

Just did my upgrade to SAM 6.4 this morning and played with PerfStack (while on the call) very powerful. A lot of the questions I asked were answered by clicking the circled icon - that expands the associated items from which you can select for a node.

Not to cause controversy (or . . .) Lego is a mass noun and should not have an s at the end.

From what I've seen the look and feel is more fluid. One of the main reasons that I initially chose Solarwinds over the competitor that includes the atomic number of 79 was the look and feel - this upgrade takes it up a notch and really is a fresh look. I love the AD network scan, very helpful when you have as many VLANs…

I have to differ with you on one point - *Remember kids, 52.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot. (I believe that number is actually much, much higher)

I would add "Reminders" Most companies/agencies/etc. have training - but users (including all of us) forget things that aren't at the forefront. So periodic reminders about security, best practices and policies is helpful. If it can be done in a fun way, i.e. a quiz, or did you know posts, or "here's a Nerf gun shoot…

Goes to reinforce the facts that planning, design (and buy-in from all users at all levels) is critical. Different situations call for different solutions, but all of them call for careful planning and understanding of the goals and challenges. A company that I worked for provided IT services to state governments. A…

Good article, thanks for posting.

There's not a lot of companies that put on big "shindigs" like this anymore. Clearly SAP still has heavy cash flow.

We have multiple elements in place to help with this - none are 100%. * Our firewall blocks the download of executables for most users. - most users, some still have this access because of business justifications * We have antivirus and malware scanning on the firewall of the files that are allowed - we can only scan what…

I've helped with several UX sessions. They are always insightful and thought provoking (anyone else here "what do you think will happen" or "what would you expect that to do") The staff is friendly and make the experience beneficial for me as an end customer, SolarWinds ads a vendor and the entire community of users.

Our local sheriff's department has implemented a new license plate capture system (along with the cameras all over town - with facial recognition) for the purpose of finding and following the "big fish." Sounds good and everyone is for that - but at what point do you become part of the "big fish" because of your origin,…

Really enjoyed camp this year. Living in the middle of Vermont we are far from any real cities, or events, so this is always a highlight of the year. As usual, SolarWinds did a great job. Love the graphics, visuals, and videos. Not really sure the message that is conveyed by a brain powered by a battery and a potato . . .
