All these articles are making Perfstack so inviting - I've got to spend more time with it. Hmm, maybe this is the thing that would excite the team.

I'm working as a contractor for an organization where the technical team is of the opinion that easy is not better. I'm showing then the value of using a SEIM that allows drilling down and their response was that they prefer one that uses CLI so that the team keeps up their skills. So for them I fear that automation will…

So true it's getting to the point where you can't avoid it - even your toaster and refrigerator are connected. Every wonder what they talk about when you aren't around?

Excellent video - I've seen exclusions change on machines and (of course) everyone on the team gives the universal I dunno gesture. Great way to enhance server security.

It's a good place to be where you enjoy your work. Glad to have you as part of the team and we in the Thwack community appreciate all that you have brought to us.

I bet Sking at a Klingon resort would be - um, shall we say somewhat more "competitive?"

Congrats jeremymayfield

Congrats euang

You bring up security at the host and it's a great point. No longer are the days when you could just firewall at the edge and call it good.

I love using custom properties - they allow me to use Orion as a single point of truth in the network. it take a little more time to enter a new device, but that's far better than having multiple "databases" for all the items that need to be tracked.

Have you looked into InfraGuard? I was a member when I lived in Oklahoma City and that branch is very active. InfraGuard is sponsored by the FBI so there are a lot of good assets available.

Thank you, the question is now more accurate.

NICE Dr. Who stuff - I love completing the missions, each one is enjoyable, but this is one I want to win. Love Dr. Who.

I totally get the frustration. Last month there were a couple of questions that went around and around. I waited and watched for several days before answering - i thought everything had been worked out - when I answered, I got it wrong. The only thing that I would say is that there have been changes to the staff that is…

Both formats have pro and con, but for me live in person it top dog. Next is a live stream followed by on-demand

It was a little confusing for me - I was over thinking it - but I agree almost word-for-word. Thanks for the good work DanielleH

This has been a great opportunity adatole to build community within Thwack. Really appreciate it.

Good information. Back in the day, there was always a separation between Database Admins and the network/server admins, etc. things are blending so much that we all are becoming DBAs. Some of us willingly with the joy of learning beaming in our faces, some of us kicking and screaming. (most somewhere in between)

Done, sounds like thinking in the right direction.

Very nice features. I really like having a single application through which I do all of my monitoring. This is making SolarWinds much more viable in the log management areas.

The OVA file installs the VMan piece as a machine - you then run the .exe fild that came in the package on the Orion server that is talking to the VMan. That will give you a new set of menu items. When you hover over Virtualization you'll see recommendations in the middle column on the right.

Thanks a lot, I REALLY appreciate the grandfather comment.

Interesting articles - I'm a bit conflicted on the whole AI thing. I can see it being very valuable, but I can also see it going very, very wrong.

The whole "china" thing is coming to America quickly as well. But then we are freely participating and letting it happen.

congrats stupendous

It's interesting how IT cycles. There was the days of DOS where everything was command line, then GUI came along and now with the newest Windows the push has been "PowerShell" which is really just command line on steroids. To the point of automation PowerShell - or a a co-worker likes to say POSH is a great tool that can…

"enterprise cross-team collaboration" While my team performs better as a team than any group with which I have ever worked - when you add the word enterprise it just seems like a pipe dream. One can hope. But seriously, this tool does bring the dream closer. When you can provide a graph that says these are the areas that…

Collaboration between teams/silos/departments Ahh the pipe dream of us all.
