  • That is correct. We don't currently filter multicast in our network, so we end up with multicast traffic where no host is needing it. I assume this is where the 0 pps message comes from. It would be nice though, to see what multicast groups a switch is listening to.
  • Worked like a charm! Thank you very much!
  • Instead, what would be helpful is if Cisco devices(layer 2 especially) were poled for "sh ip igmp snooping groups" information. I'm not sure what the MIB is for this, but that info would be useful as opposed to the "Traffic on multicast group 239.255.8.0 is 0 pps" event logging. I could eliminate these messages two ways...…
  • As I see it now, it is only filling up my events log with numerous multicast messages. I don't find any useful information about the messages at this time. Sorry to be blunt, but a message telling me "Traffic on multicast group 239.255.8.0 is 0 pps" is not helpful in any way.
  • Not all 400 nodes are part of multicast, but there are a lot. When we upgraded NPM, this was turned on by default. it would be nice if there was an admin setting to disable by default for all nodes, then turn on for whatever nodes we see fit.
  • How do I do this for 400+ nodes? >>> branfarm <solarwindscommunityteam@communications.solarwinds.com> 5/10/2013 11:10 AM >>> thwack Mulitcast event logging created by branfarm ( thwack.solarwinds.com/.../branfarm ) in Network Performance Monitor - View the full discussion ( thwack.solarwinds.com/.../200687 ) I was also…
  • Your 7206 is definately not the one handing out DHCP addresses. Those IP's you're seeing there are the IP addresses of the client at the other end of the telnet/TTY connection... The IP address you see may very well be part of your DHCP scope, it's just not being handed out by your 7206. Best way to tell is find your layer…
  • Ok... restart did not fix it. Lines omitted are: feature interface-vlan interface Vlan1 interface Vlan2 no shutdown description vPC Keepalive Layer 3 Interface vrf member vpckeepalive ip address x.x.x.x/30 interface Vlan88 no shutdown description Switch Mgmt. Interface ip address x.x.x.x/24 So for some reason, it appears…
  • What about the Cisco 6120X fabric switches? Anyone aware of a template that can download configs for this device? If no template exists, can anyone figure it out? TIA, Tony
  • I'd like to know this as well. We have an odd case where.... Devices on a particular switch show a cisco 1310 bridge as their direct connection. Obviously, this can't be the case since there's only one fa0 port on a bridge. The actual physical port that the device IS connected to shows as indirect. If I click on the…
  • I wasn't very clear in my original post. I have Landesk ServiceDesk, which is the same application I'm questioning on your demo page. I just want to know how you integrated the "open tickets" into NPM. Is it a custom query? Or maybe embedded HTML? Whatever the case, I'm trying to achieve what you have accomplished with the…
  • So I found the timer settings within the server-side NCM application... raised the ssh connection/prompt timers to 60sec/30sec respectively... downloaded a new startup... still omitting lines. i don't think it's a timer issue, I get the running-config just fine. I'm going to restart the server and see if that helps.…
  • Where exactly are these timers? I use the auto template...
