I like it! It would certainly make it easier to vote.

In my original fulltime job, I put together the Solarwinds server over about 9 years. I got made redundant from there last year in March and since then I've had 3 contract jobs. First one used Solarwinds but it was only a 5 week job so did nothing to Solarwinds. At the next job they installed Solarwinds during my time…

I assume the poller works ok when you test it against the device i.e. it will give a figure of around -45. So how are you testing the alert?
-
In the connection profile, try setting the enable level to No Enable Login.
-
Is this commercial on youtube? I've not seen it.
-
Can you post up a copy of the alert? It sounds like there's something mis-configured in the alert itself.
-
I don't understand what you are trying to do. But if you're wanting to request a new feature to be added into NPM, you'll need to use the Feature Request forum. There other users can vote up the idea if they like it. But as it stands, I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve.

I found this but couldn't get it to work on an ASA or a switch. CISCO-SYSTEM-MIB

This thread should help. http://thwack.solarwinds.com/thread/43980

You should log a call with the support team.

If the node is added into Solarwinds but syslogs are not coming through, then check if there's a firewall in between blocking the syslog traffic.
-
I've never tried it but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
-
I'm not sure what that device is but if you can connect to the device via SNMP, then when you do List Resources, you should see the sub interface if it's capable of being monitored. This certainly works fine on Cisco equipment.
-
I don't know anything about these switches but generally to copy a config, you need to be in enable mode. But this may also help Success Center

Solarwinds includes an out of the box alert for when a thin AP goes down. I use it for my Cisco AP's. Works great.

Vote this up!

For NTA to work, you need to configure your devices to send netflow data to your Orion server. Once you do that, this data automatically appear in NTA if you are monitoring the node in NPM. In NPM, you can alert on latency or whatever. NTA will show you who and what is using your link. So start by checking if latency is…

Check your hop count and set it to zero. And what is your discovery timeout set to? I run 1 discovery job with 2 x /16 networks in it and I find it doesn't time out.

So all the other graphs on the page show information except for the Top 20 Conversations? Could you show us an example please? Does it work for any other netflow device or does this issue occur for all netflow devices. Have you checked the time period on this view? Someone may have unticked "Use Time Period from current…

If you use the Network Configuration Manager tool on the actual server (GUI version), you can double click on the device and then on the right hand side select the Invertory tab and then scroll down to Physical Entities (Serial Number) in the Inventory Details drop down list.

Does the group Everyone have write access to the folder?

Around here it seems to be "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". So whilst we are proactive and seeking out issues before they appear, generally if it's working ok, then it's left alone.

I set up a simple syslog email rule that will send me email me on all the 0, 1 & 2 level syslog notifications that are received.

I too have this problem as I've just upgraded to 10.4. Will keep an eye on this thread for updates. Thanks!

Have you tried a search in the Manage Nodes page for a node that is listed as being down?

I know this is a number of months old but the answer is found here http://knowledgebase.solarwinds.com/kb/questions/5195/How+to+stop+the+UDT+log+file
