This is a obvious one but are you sure you have the right nodes in the correct group? Solarwinds will not show something as up unless it responds to a ping. Double check the IP address for the nodes in Portsmouth group and confirm that they are in fact located in Portsmouth. Do a traceroute and compare results to that one…

Can you please show us what you have configured on the interface for the netflow?

When you open up a session, the chat window just appears on the right hand side of the page.

In your discard message rule add in "Stop Processing Syslog Rules" in the Alert Actions tab. Then the syslog won't match anymore rules below it. EDIT: Ah just realised the original post is back from 2009. Guess they would've resolved it by now

What version of NPM are you using? I'm still only on 11.0.1 and it has an out of the box resource called F5 Device Connections. This resource shows the current connections. Then in Advanced Alert Manager I have a rule as follows. Works great.

NPM may be able to show you this information using custom pollers. See here for more details [VIDEO] Create Custom Pollers in SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor (NPM)

I would pick anything network related especially Cisco certifications.

I agree with d09h Looks to me like something has changed on your email infrastructure. If it didn't need authentication before, maybe it needs it now?

I've now stepped back in time. My time machine is still working.

No I haven't upgraded to 11.5 as yet. I'm not a fan of the new HTML pages for Alert Manager and NCM. I'm still holding of a bit longer.
-
Do they log an error in syslog? If yes, then you could alert on that. That's what I do.
-
Whilst Leon's way is way more cool, couldn't you just add "Forward the Syslog Message" and put it at the top of the Alerts/Filter Rules section?

This information is contained in the Thwack Updates email that gets sent once a week. Click the down arrow in the top right hand corner and select Preferences from the menu.

When you add a device into NPM you have the option of Adding the node to NCM (Config Manager). When you say yes to this, you need to fill out the username and password details to be able to log onto the device. There's a test button so you can test your credentials. Once it passes the credentials test, you can download…

Are you looking in the correct context? You'll need to monitor the context to be able to see this info.

When you delete a node in UDT, it prompts you with the following. So you can decide if the node is deleted from UDT only or from all modules. I'm using UDT version 3.0.2

dom wrote: Hello the Community, Second question : we use in the enterprise HPOVO with NNMI. Is it possible to send alerts / traps received on NPM/NTA to HPOVO ? Thanks, Regards, Dom Yes you can create a rule on the syslog server (runs on your Orion server) to forward certain or all syslogs to another device. You can do the…

Try sending it in Plain Text (if you're not doing that already).

There is a build in NCM report called Login Failure Report but it doesn't have a date associated to it. It's located in the NCM Security section. There's also a report called Login Status which may be useful.
-
You could use groups for this. So create a site specific group and put both routers in there. Then report on when the group is down.
-
Click on the Manage Ports button in the All UDT Nodes view. Then find the devices you wish to delete out of UDT. Click in the little box to select it and click on the Delete button.
-
I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to do but in the NCM GUI version on your server, you have the option to "Execute Command Script". This allows you to add a bunch of devices and then issue commands on them. Hope that helps.

Did you create the 10 Objects? Without all 10 objects in place, it doesn't work the icon. But once you add in graphics into the folder and delete them or even delete the whole User Graphics folder and then restart Atlas, the folder re-appears. Orion stores a copy of the User Graphics folder to (even if Atlas is not…

Try changing "Conditions tab: BGP4-MIB:bgpTraps.0.1 contains *established*" to "Conditions tab: BGP4-MIB:bgpTraps.0.1 is equal to *", that way you should get an email for all the BGP traps that come in. See if that works. Also check if you have you SMTP Server details filled in in the Edit E-Mail/Page Action section.…

If your DNS is configured correctly, when adding a node via IP address, it will change it to the FQDN automatically before adding the node.

Is the device part of a parent-child dependency relationship? If the node was down, you should have received an alert (and by looking at the lack of availability, you should have received an email). But if it's part of a dependency, then the parent device would have triggered the node down alert, but not the child device.

Sorry I'm not into Starwars, so I may have mis-understood your question. But if you're just looking to create a new Grouping, then all you do is just manually type in the new name for the Grouping group you wish to use in the Grouping box. I've pointed to it in your image copy below. Delete what's there and type in your…

I've always used genuine Cisco SFP's. Other have bought generic brands. Only time I've seen issues, it's been with the generic brands. I would recommend genuine but if cost is an issue, then you'll just have to run the generic brand. Most will be fine I'd say.
-
The issue will be due to the actual data being rolled up. Check how long you keep the data for before rolling it up. Go to Settings and find NTA Setting (right hand side of page in Settings section). Then scroll down to Database settings. As NTA data can take up a lot of room, it gets rolled up pretty quickly. I only keep…
