I'm still using this script and it still works fine. I'm on 2020.2.4.

Unless you have paid for Log Analyzer you can no longer export syslogs in Solarwinds. You will just need to cut and paste the relevant entries into a document.
-
I've not seen this before but which version are you on? And how many elements are you polling per poller?
-
I look for syslogs containing %PLATFORM_THERMAL but you could just look for syslogs containing the word temperature as I believe all temp syslogs include that word.
-
Can you show an example of the mismatched lines?
-
There is no "connection profile" option for the CLI Polling Settings. You could create a feature request for this.
-
I've not seen that before. An alert will trigger if conditions are met. You should add in the "All Alerts this Object can trigger" widget on the nodes and see what it shows up. There must be a difference between the 2 alerts for it to trigger differently. Post up your alerts so we can have a look.
-
Add the controller as per any other node. Then when looking at the controller you should see all the thin ap's that are attached. Then enable the out-of-the-box alert for Thin AP down. You will now get an alert if an AP goes down. The access points are not monitored individually.
-
Yup as per @"jm_sysadmin" change your reset action to the following You will then only get an email once the Node is actually "UP"
-
Can you share a screen shot of what you see when you open Applications? Does this link work? your_solarwinds_server_details/.../Default.aspx
-
I can't see the screen shot but can you do a successful NCM inventory scan on this?
-
What type of wireless controllers do you have? The out of the box thin ap down alert works for the Cisco's.

This flow chart should help. https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/success_center/orionplatform/Content/Orion_Platform_Migration_Guide.htm Click on the option that best suits your plan which I guess is this one?…
-
Good to hear it does work for you. The timings are depended on how often your WLC is polled so just check that.
-
Solarwinds includes an out of the box alert for when a thin AP goes down. I've used it in the past for Cisco AP's. Works great.

I am using Chrome but this morning I'm using Edge. Still same deal. Notifications show no new ones but I can see in there the friend notification you sent. Maybe I'll just have to do a View All each time to see if anything new happened. Thanks for the assistance!
-
Oops! Learn something new each day. I was surprised that @"mesverrum" would make a 'mistake'! I should've know better, he's the smartest one here
-
Yeah as mentioned I see notifications in there. But I don't see Friend requests in there. I can only accept them from the email I receive. Thanks.
-
No it just says I have no unread notifications. If I click on View All, I do see notifications.
-
The most I see in way of notification is that this changes with a little number But nothing changes in my Solarwinds menu bar / webpage.
-
Actually I was just thinking about this a little more and if a node goes down, the interfaces are automatically muted. So how are your managed sites hooked up? Single or dual links, single or dual routers etc.
-
I didn't think it was possible for an interface to be both UP and Unreachable at the same time. Should your statement be OR?
-
So overnight I ran the NCM Nightly Hardware Inventory and now all my 9300/9500's are showing their serial number in NCM. For the ones that I replaced, they were still showing old EOL data. So I manually deleted that information for those nodes. All good now
-
Solarwinds will process every alert. So you can have 3 alerts for Node Down for example and all will trigger. Each one can do something different like alert a particular team with a custom message etc. So in your case, I would have an email alert for Node Down and a PagerDuty alert for node down. Just use the exmple…

https://thwack.solarwinds.com/product-forums/network-configuration-manager-ncm/f/forum/88975/ncm-cisco-asa-multi-context-captures-all-context-configs-with-keys-and-passwords The link stuartd has posted doesn't work. And google something to do with Solarwinds such as "solarwinds show serial number" and all the hits pointing…
-
The alerts for the child objects will be muted as that's what a group does. So you shouldn't get any alerts for the child objects when the parent goes down.
-
You could put this in as a feature request but in Cisco's case, they recommend (or 'star') a number of different versions so it may be hard to actually implement this.
-
I fixed my issue. I realised my Nightly Hardware Inventory had expired. So I just manually ran a Hardware Inventory job over 2 x 9300's and 2 x 9500's (both changed and newly installed devices). Now all switches show the serial number in NCM. But as you can see in the second image, this 9300 is still pulling old EOL info…
-
Interesting, I'd not noticed this but I've just replaced a bunch of switches with 9300's and installed some new 9300's and none are showing the serial number. So even brand new ones added to NPM don't show the serial number. I assume something has changed with the MIB variable. I'll have to have a play around to see if I…
