Can you see the Disk Volumes when you look at the server in NPM? Is the HyperV being monitored as a HyperV? The alert works fine on all my HyperV VM's.
-
These options are pulled from the device via SNMP. So you'll need to configure these settings on the device (if possilbe). Then solarwinds will grab that information. What sort of device is it? Yours is shown as unknown so maybe for this particular one, it's not possible to have the extra SNMP details.
-
I"m not sure what F1 link is but Solarwinds is all about monitoring links and more! Just add the device which has this link connected into Solarwinds and select the interface you wish to monitor as well. Then configure alerting for interface down, and you'll get an email when an interface goes down. Hope that helps.

You select this option in the NCM job. This will show what failed and what was successful.
-
Why are you looking for this rescan button? I'm assume the 'cache' funtion times out after a certain time frame so then it would just do a rescan again. I just don't see where you would scan and then want to scan the device again straight away other than if you forgot to select something to monitor in which case the cache…

When I double click on the offline file and then look through the files it contains, the file it says is missing is not there. So it’s not part of the offline file. So I was hoping to find a copy of the missing file so I could add it in.
-
I ran the offline install file which then allows me to click on prestage files. It then does a check before it will copy the file to server and pollers. It’s from the checks that brings up the error.

Does it pass the SNMP test?
-
You could try deleting and re-adding in the the node.
-
There is 1 out-of-the-box alert that looks for BGP neighbour changes.
-
What sort of device is it? Is the actual port being shut down or did the device that's plugged in fail? It's odd for a port to go into shutdown if the interface is not actually configured as shut. Maybe it's a quirk of the device you are using.

For Cisco devices you need to use the command "logging host x.x.x.x". Once you can see syslog messages appearing in Syslogs (under Alerts & Activity menu), then they should also appear on the device view. But if they are not appearing in the device view, then use the details that I posted in this thread.…

I assume you are saying that syslogs from your devices are not getting to Orion? If so, have the devices been configured to send their syslogs to the Orion server? If yes, is there a firewall in the way that's blocking this access?

NPM is enough. SAM is for application monitoring.
-
Can you log onto these devices with another account? If so, configure NCM to pull the config using that account. That way you can confirm NCM can still copy config just fine. Then you'll need to check the devices config to see why this global account is not working. If using TACACS, check TACACS server to make sure device…

The status icon is taken from NPM. Maybe SNMP is no longer working on these devices.

Yes you can select Disable here Or configure not to receive notifications in Step 4 of RTCD setup
-
As mentioned you can disable the email notification. In RTCD setup click here Then select this box Or you can do it in Step 6 as well by selecting Disable.

^^ This is what I do as well. Safest way.

Yup @"alanmartinez_"has shown where that option is found. I actually run 2 tasks. One for the startup and another for the running. I do the startup one first. Then on the running one, I compared it to the most recent startup config to determine if people are writing off the config. And for changes to configs, I use the…
-
Just edit the download job and select "Startup" instead of "Running". And you could tick the box "Only save configs that have changed" so that it doesn't download duplicates.
-
You can use NCM compliance policy reports or you can just go NCM Config Summary and type in your keyword into the Search NCM box and click on Search.
-
Try recreating the report rather than duplicating it.
-
Use NCM compliance policy reports to see which configs do not have the statements listed. support.solarwinds.com/.../NCM-Compliance-Policy-Reports

Sorry to see you go! Thank you for always helping me with my THWACK store goodies! I wish you all the best in your next adventure
-
Agreed. It sounds like the bandwidth is set lower than what it really is thus showing higher than 100%. You can set this on the actual interface on the device or alternatively on the interface in solarwinds itself.
-
This has been my approach as well. It is annoying not knowing which one was added in once the title name has changed.
-
I'm still using the syslog method successfully.
-
Whilst we have SAM I personally don't really use it. So I can't provide any valuable input here.
