Great job wabbott, DanielleH, maria.bungau, and mrs.alterego !!!! You guys do great work, I've seen lots of improvements over the years. Nice one. I also noticed that I can now enter today's question during the day rather than having to wait till after 5pm. Sweet!

Here here! I voted too. Who cares about a little spam. There are spam filters for that and they are easy to use.

There's definitely widespread interest. Hello from Australia

Lionel is the original "Hello" singer.

For me this has been the hardest mission by far. I barely got any right It probably doesn't help that I don't use these particular products. Anyways it was still fun and I enjoyed the cartoons that were created. Well done Solarwinds and congrats to all the winners.

True that!

That is such a good point. If everything is not accessible, so is the documentation. Another good thing is to keep the network less complicated. Makes troubleshooting much easier.

Logging is a tricky one. You need to have logging but you don't want to log anything and everything. Otherwise all the important logs will/may be lost. For me logging/alerting is an evolving thing. I keep fine tuning it along the way. I do take the time to randomly go through the logs to look for any important issues that…

I am surprised that Messi got beaten by Stubing! Must be a lot of old people in the room me included. But I would've voted Messi even though I loved The Love Boat.

As a general rule logs are kept for at least 30 days. But it does depend on what it is and how much space there is to store the logs.

I'm going on a non-thwack-aday?
-
Using the debug command too can cause this issue. I've stopped some switches from working back in the day entering an incorrect debug command. Live and learn as they say.

Good start to the year

This is always my favourite question to answer. I can't possibly get it wrong
-
Yeah I've been getting moderated a few times! I didn't think I said anything too controversial
-
Yup monitoring is a fine tuning piece of art. Even just today, I wrote another alert for a failure we've not had before. So next time we will be alerted
-
Yup agreed, this is a must have. Let's promote this
-
Look forward to reading all about it.

I'm real big on neat cabling! Whenever I go to a site that has less than favourable cabling, I always clean it up as much as I can in the time I have. Nothing worse than a messy data centre! But the reality is that not everyone feels the same as I do, so there's plenty of time I see someone else's lazy handy work of…
-
Bummer. Yeah it required close reading.
-
Absolutely! That's what I'm talking about.
-
Yeah I'll stick around but isn't it up to the data link provider whether they charge you or not? We have managed to negotiate free backup links with our current provider - even if the backup link is at another site.
-
I'm not sure if I've missed answering any either. I was using 2 computers to do this (as I was away for work) and then it doesn't know which ones you have done.
-
And we're off! First question down Happy days.
-
April 1 comes to mind for a good fake news day.
-
I have the original version of the SCP. So I voted yes but I'm guessing it's not valid anymore?
-
Bump!
-
Bookmarked this as well. Like others, the biggest issue I have in keeping up, is finding the time to read all this stuff. One day!

Great to hear everything went awesome. Stand looks fantastic, well done to all of you!!
