This is great and will be good to go over. I can always learn more

Same here. I've never thought about the Solarwinds server failing. It still runs on a physical box......

I enjoy participating even though I can't win any prizes. Not sure if I did any good in this comp Keep up the great work with this comps! It's appreciated.
-
Yeah true! Not a fan of Transformers but all the other prices are very nice.

We are in Australia and use AWS. I still don't know if hosting in the cloud is actually cheaper than hosting it internally. Most of our data centres have shrunk significantly but has it all been for the better? And then when it fails, you have to sit and wait for someone who doesn't work for you to fix it. Whereas if it…

Thwack is a great source of information but I personally don't like the forum layouts. To get the most out of these forums, I actually watched the video clips on how to use the forum. I've not experienced any other forums where I've had to watch a video on how to use it. Other than that, the source of information is great.

I've been lucky. I've worked at my current employer for 21 years and they've always maintained a standard to our network. First it was all DEC gear and then we became a Cisco shop. That's what we still use today. We use standard config templates and everyone maintains the policies (pretty much). So all good here

I just went all green for the month.
-
I like how in Question 8 you can tick both true and false
-
It was fun. I didn't know all the sidekicks, so it was great to read up on them. Future missions could be "best 80's TV show", "best rock band", "greatest racing car driver of all time".

Wow, NTA rocks! It's not hard to use. Just configured up the devices to send the netflow data to the Solarwinds server and it does the rest

I've seen KISS a few times in concert. They were great! Oh wait, we're talking about something else Yes I totally agree you need to be informed as much as possible and keeping things simple, makes trouble shooting a thousand times easier. Having Solarwinds will definitely save the day. And as mentioned, if you don't have…

I hope they hit their targets with this plan. It sounds like a great improvement.
-
Hooray!! New mission
-
I thought that one was pretty straight forward. Day 16 had me nervous.
-
Thanks for all you do @"kpina" !!

I just realised I looked and pasted in the wrong question. Here's question 18 and only 1 correct answer. If you search on the hint link for 'new management', you will see only 1 correct answer pop up. Yes another one of the answers was in the text but it's not what it was looking for. So no I didn't have prior experience,…

We have a change process here that includes everything you've mentioned. Simple changes are approved by the manager (but they may not necessarily look closely at what the plan is). But major changes required presentation to a change committee. But those on the change committee may not understand what you are changing…

Yeah but the other number is not an option. Easiest is to scroll down to the bottom of the page and look through the transcript

I feel old now. I started with Dos 3.2, then onto Novel 2.2 & 3.11 (became a CNE). Next was Windows for Workgroups before NT3.51 etc took over the world. Windows 95 was a real treat

I attended Cisco Live recently in Melbourne. We had a free ticket so I got to go and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
-
Scooby dooby dooooo!
-
Great to see a Beatles referenced question. I love the Beatles. This mission is great, I love my music. My iPod classic is my favourite device.
-
Guess I'm out already
-
Woohoo all green this month
-
No matter which question I click on I get "This survey is not accepting additional responses at this time. Thank You!" Are there issues?
-
Thanks mate! I found it now. But oddly when I check in my profile it say I have 170858 points but on the homepage it show me as having 177480 points. I hope the homepage one is the correct one
-
Hooray! Bose bluetooth speaker is exactly what I need Love your work Solarwinds!
-
Thanks for this! It was fun

We still allow USB drives. I don't believe we've had any issues to date. All pc's are patched and have anti virus software on them. Not sure if that's enough but so far it seems to work. I'm not sure what the security team are planning.
