We're migrating all the old Cisco 1131 AP's to either 2702's or 2802 AP's. What a fun job swapping them all out!! I think there's around 500-600 to do. Also we're moving to new Cisco 9300 switches and upgrading the WLC's from 5508's to 8540's.. I haven't used or seen either of them as yet.

Great articles but mostly excited about the beef rib appetizer!! I have to get a job in Kansas City. The Beatles - Kansas City - YouTube

HI. I couldn't this in the documentation but is it possible to add one single node to a map without it re-doing all the nodes that are already on the map? I found that when I add in an extra subnet and scan again, all the nodes loose the changes I made to them. Other question I have, if a node was discovered as ICMP only,…

Happy birthday Thwack!! I've had many enjoyable years here. This was a great missions. I loved the walk down memory lane. Keep up the good work!

Kirks out!

My favourite is just turning one of these on at my desk. The fan noise gets everyone's attention
-
Cool all questions answered! Good luck to all for the draw

I don't use bots but I noticed that my 7 year old son tells google what he wants to search for. He started doing it originally as he didn't know how to spell everything.

Just keep collecting points. One day that may change. For years Australia was not on the list either. But now it is
-
Yeah but the survey doesn't seem to work for me. At least I could say I did the survey
-
Yup and you learn from experience and make things better each time. I've been working in IT since 89 but there's always something new to learn.
-
I thought they both meant the same thing! I can see they are different now. We use a service desk.

3AM?! Will it be so awesome that I should be awake for it?? I will do my best to remember and be awake for it but no guarantees.
-
I like it! Short and sweet, straight to the point!
-
Excellent!!! Wyld Stallyns for the win or should I say KISS rules
-
Done! Good luck!

Another mission complete! All green this month

This is great and will be good to go over. I can always learn more

Same here. I've never thought about the Solarwinds server failing. It still runs on a physical box......

I enjoy participating even though I can't win any prizes. Not sure if I did any good in this comp Keep up the great work with this comps! It's appreciated.
-
Yeah true! Not a fan of Transformers but all the other prices are very nice.

We are in Australia and use AWS. I still don't know if hosting in the cloud is actually cheaper than hosting it internally. Most of our data centres have shrunk significantly but has it all been for the better? And then when it fails, you have to sit and wait for someone who doesn't work for you to fix it. Whereas if it…

Thwack is a great source of information but I personally don't like the forum layouts. To get the most out of these forums, I actually watched the video clips on how to use the forum. I've not experienced any other forums where I've had to watch a video on how to use it. Other than that, the source of information is great.

I've been lucky. I've worked at my current employer for 21 years and they've always maintained a standard to our network. First it was all DEC gear and then we became a Cisco shop. That's what we still use today. We use standard config templates and everyone maintains the policies (pretty much). So all good here

I just went all green for the month.
-
I like how in Question 8 you can tick both true and false
-
It was fun. I didn't know all the sidekicks, so it was great to read up on them. Future missions could be "best 80's TV show", "best rock band", "greatest racing car driver of all time".
-
Wow, NTA rocks! It's not hard to use. Just configured up the devices to send the netflow data to the Solarwinds server and it does the rest

I've seen KISS a few times in concert. They were great! Oh wait, we're talking about something else Yes I totally agree you need to be informed as much as possible and keeping things simple, makes trouble shooting a thousand times easier. Having Solarwinds will definitely save the day. And as mentioned, if you don't have…
