I too missed this challenge. Some great stuff was written. What Peter Monaghan has said rings so true. I've been working in IT since 1989. I didn't know a single thing about computers at the time but since then I've learned a lot. Whilst some simple concepts have remained, everything keeps evolving. I've got certifications…

Wow massive presentation effort!! Two thumbs up. Well done.

I remember when there was no internet Originally I had to dial into a bulletin board to download drivers. Prior to that we had to get them posted out to us on floppies. The good ole days

Here's my shortcut to the Red Hot Chili Peppers

Totally agree with this article. A server is still a server at the end of the day, even if you don't have to fix the hardware. Users need to be able to access it, so you have to make sure it's working correctly for your environment.

Great mission! Nice to have all green ticks for it

Just did the first 3 questions and even though it's Thursday here I have to wait till America wakes up so I can do Thursday's question. Always have to remember to answer Friday's question just before I go home to it is available. Thanks Solarwinds for another comp!

That reminds of Audi forever giving away a couple of R8's. As if! But it would be nice We don't have any blocking at work but the onus is on the employee. They agree to adhere to our internet usage policy. Other than mobile phones we don't have BYOD.

I did the exact same thing. Kept thinking what is going on. But clicking on it pops up a window. No more having to fill out my username and it shows if I've answered the questions. Brilliant!

Right on! Things should always be optimized for sure.

That was an interesting read. It's not something I'd heard of. And to be honest, I can't see it being implemented anytime soon where I work.

Very cool!

Whilst I don't use a "tour" function, I have all my link lines coloured as green. The will go red if they go down but the green line is much more impressive than a black line. Lots of green lines gives a very positive effect that all is good.

I found it hard too. So I completed the other words around it and then was able to work out the answer. But for a hint, the headline on this article says it all www.smh.com.au/.../computer-scientist-who-invented-copy-and-paste-has-died-20200221-p542yq.html

Totally agree. It's the only one that I usually visit on a regular basis. Not cause I have problems I need answers too, but to learn more.

I wish that I only had 1 username and password to remember. I have some written down as I don't use them very often. But as others have said, I always have the same password but just increment a number at the end. We get forced to change our AD password every 90 days (so that's not too bad) but my accounts on the managed…

Hahahahaha, I almost spat coffee everywhere

Actually the FBI only wanted Apple to stop the phone from self-wiping itself after so many password attempts. They didn't want Apple to break into it.

Great writeup. I became a CNE in 3.11 and 2.2 in 1993. I upgraded it to 4 in 1997 I think it was. But we never rolled out version 4 in my new job that I got in 1995. We went down the Windows NT route. So I did an MSCE in Windows NT3.51 in 98 or so and then upgraded it to Windows NT 4.0 sometime after 2000. The key is to…

I really didn't think it was that hard. Just got to read it closely and you'll be fine

Unfortunately I didn't get to vote all the rounds but I'm bummed Haddock didn't get through.

Solo will take it all the way. I'm not a Star Wars fan but all the ones I knew have long faltered.

Welcome to the party!!!

Totally agree! I don't blame the tools when something goes wrong. I'll then modify something within the tool to make sure it works the next time. To not test doing automated IOS upgrades to 50 devices is a mayor oversight. In fact most automated scripts should be tested first to make sure they'll work fine against all the…

This would be very helpfull. Now may already know this but there is a workaround to get the report into excel. Just open the report in a webpage and add &DataFormat=Excel to the end of the URL and press Enter.

Yes pro-active monitoring is where it's at. Which can be done easily enough if you know your network well.

Yup I see the answer now. Thanks!

Can't wait to check this one out. I still haven't gone to 11.5. So I'll skip that one and go straight to 12
