I never got to answer the last 2 questions as they never changed from what's been posted before. Did anyone actually see questions for the last 2?
-
Someone has already requested this as a feature request. Vote it up. http://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/1070

Totally agree. We do use standards and everything is in Solarwinds.

I'm going to predict Haddock as the overal winner Sadly there's a lot of names there I don't recognise.
-
10.5 still has the same issue
-
This is awesome! I'm going to call it now, Spinal Tap for the win! They will turn it up to 11 Rock n Roll

We do use VoIP for all of our sites but we don't use IP SLA much at all. I have the VNQM module and someone did setup an IP SLA router some years ago which I've put into VNQM so you can see the stats easily. But other than that, we don't use it. Our VoIP network runs really well so there's not much need for it. Having said…

Someone's always gotta complain about something Popularity contest or not, well done!! It's funny though, usually people are quick to log online and post something negative. Not a lot of people go online to post something positive.

Great quiz. I just did the first 8 day's worth. I got one question wrong on one day but I didn't take much notice which day it was. This is all about fun after all rather than setting the perfect score. As for the "misleading", at the end of the day this is a quiz. You should be glad they're giving you a hint in the first…

I agree. SNMP is quick and easy to setup. It does the job ok. And I also do a lot of my monitoring via logs.
-
Good luck! The end results is worthwhile. Hope it all comes together for you.

I did this a few months ago but I went from 11.0.1 Was a long process to get to 12.1 but got there in the end.
-
I agree as well. I'll wait with answering it until later tonight

My network is lucky to have me as it's administrator due to - I keep it humming along optimally - cabling is neat and tidy - redundant gear is removed rather than keeping the data centre warm - issues are attended to swiftly (thanks to Solarwinds!) This stops the network form getting unruly
-
Thanks mate. That made more sense and I was able to answer correctly.

Welcome to all the newbies! :) And the oldbies.

Guess I must be considered as old too I started in IT in 1989 with zero experience whatsoever. I was hired on a hunch. I learned everything as I went by building and selling pc's. We used to call them 'dogboxes'. Learned heaps and got a CNE and then left to go to my current job in 1995. Lots of mistakes have been made…

Wow, that was a bit harsh! Anyone could see that she wanted a surface pro. Big deal, we all want something for free in this world. As for Microsoft shedding employees, they are no different to other big companies doing the same thing. My work has been shedding staff for a number of years. It's unfortunate but it's the way…

I've just completed up to question 6. All of them were pretty straight forward but question 5 also had me stumped for ages. I just started randomly guessing words until I got the right one
-
It was straight forward. I didn't realise anyone was having issues until I started reading these posts. I just answered and got it right.

Hooray for new mission! I still can't get used to not seeing who replied to who. It's just all listed down as it came in. Makes reading down the list confusing. And people need to take a chill pill. No need for negativity. My mum always said, if you've got nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.

I'm wishing for home security cameras. And I'm also looking for a new TV PVR.

I love my Apple iPhones but I hate their Mac's etc. My phone is a work supplied one so I don't really worry about it. It works fine for what I need. I currently have an iPhone 7.

Scooby scooby dooooooo!
-
I wouldn't call it a win
-
Another great set of articles. Love the pic as well.

I was going to add this as a feature request but saw this one here already. I really need to be able to have say a super admin and then admin access to the different modules. Up until recently, our Solarwinds setup was purely for network only. But now we have VM and SRM meaning that I have to give users full access to…

I'm in. I'll stock up on coffee and stay up all night.
-
Yup it's the same for me, link doesn't work. I said yes though as I didn't want to forget to answer the question

I think it's a given that you run some good Service Desk software if you want things to run smoothly and efficiently.
