Well said. That's exactly why I'm still here after 21 years. I've done loads of training inc upgrading my CNE to version 4, MCSE and then upgrading my MSCE, plus countless Cisco courses. Treat your staff well, and they will stay.

I guess it just means it doesn't work?
-
I remember those days. They were painful!
-
I started using it a few months ago. It's pretty cool.
-
I'm looking forward to checking this one out. Thanks!

And we're off!

Great article!

I'd like to look at a node and run that node's details against all the advanced alerts and see which ones are applicable. So if I don't want to receive any more alerts on a particular node, this will quickly show me which alerts I need to modify so that this particular node no longer triggers those alerts. Make sense now?

Sorry but I got to say this. I can't believe all the whinging that's going on in here. This is a free quiz with free prices. If you don't like the conditions, then don't do it! I hope Solarwinds don't get turned off by this and stop doing the monthly prices. This is the only website I know of where I can participate and…

Totally agreed! When I called Spinal Tap for the win I didn't notice the Blues Brothers in there. And the Blues Brothers is still my alltime favourite movie. It will be a tough call if that's the final showdown.

Question 20 doesn't work. Can you please fix it?

WordPerfect or Ms Word?

Or alternatively only backup once a week and turn on Realtime Change Detection so that it backs up the config each time a change is made. And set to purge once every 6 months.

I have one rule for our network links that will alert me if the utilisation is over 90% continuously for 10 mins. At least then you'll know if someone is really flogging the links. Polling of interfaces is just the default settings of 120 seconds. As for retention, I'm pretty sure I'm just using the defaults. Any…

That's the one I got wrong too! Oh well, life goes on

Haha, yeah the answer was in the question

Very nice overview. The list is very comprehensive.

"Let me start by saying that I was a proponent of SolarWinds’ solutions long before it became cool. Does that make me a SolarWinds hipster? " When was that? I went back through my emails and noticed I started using Solarwinds in 2003. I was using the Solarwinds 2002 Professional Edition. But eventually the product became…

I would use the same guidelines as well. It needs to be powerful, easy to use and install.

Great post!

I hope not!! I'm not liking what's been done to Syslog Viewer (which is/was one of my favourite parts of NPM) and I'll be most disappointed if Atlas meets the same fate. The new Orion map is not flexible at all and cumbersome to use at this point in time.

The IP Subnet Calculator is invaluable!

Very cool mission. The encryption was a nice touch.

I don't think the creators had in mind people breaking all the rules. Did they really know how popular this was going to be? And how quick it became popular?
-
It's tough going. I've been at this for many years and I'm up to 26. I hovered around the mid 30s for a few years. But then again, I don't try and just post anywhere to get my numbers up. Although this post may qualify for that...... Can you "like" it for extra points ??

Awesome! Wished I could be there for it again! Last year was a blast.
-
Great post. I went to Cisco Live in Melbourne last year, and it was a great event. Learned lots and got to see and learn lots of new technologies.
-
Wow, you have too much time on your hands

This question should read "Which of the following support case number has been fixed ......."
