Solarwinds.cool.com!! That's a rocking website.

I agree!

jblankjblank Thanks for the reply. It's great to see a new Orion Maps has just been released. In fairness though, the new orion maps have only just been announced and all my comments are based on using Network Atlas for many years and using orion maps before it's latest updates. So currently as it stands for me, these 2…

Yeah I agree, need to find out why the free training is not being used.

Yeah I've never heard of captain Crunch before either.

Dear Network Thanks for all you've done over the last year. You did a cracker job. There were minimal issues but all were sorted out in no time. I hope you can keep it up for next year. With shrinking budgets, I'm not sure how many shiny new bits will be added to you throughout the year. Either way, I'm sure you and I will…

Great read! After working for the one company for almost 23 years, I was made redundant in March last year. Since then I've been doing contracting. I'm about to start my fourth contract. And I've found that if I'm given an interview, they've given me the job bar one. That particular interview was almost like a Cisco exam…

I think Day 6's question needs to be changed so you can select more than 1 answer as multiple answers are correct. Currently I can only select 1.

Thanks for the insight into DevOps. It's not something I've ever thought of but after reading this I follow the benefits of DevOps

Yeah I too missed this one.

Ah good to see an Australian listed

Hi Michael, on the upshot, your videos were very helpful in me getting more out of using these forums Most forums I use (car related forums) are either phpBB or similar and look like this https://www.phpbb.com/community/?sid=23c91013ba78d52f0f94810de1af3638 If this style of forum was used here, I would say scroll down to…

Thanks. Is there somewhere else where we can continue this conversation? I'm not sure if here is the most appropriate spot. I will go through what you've said and play around with it more but in regards to my port channels not showing any issues, here is what I see. This is a port channel that has 1 interface down. As you…

Great answers in today's question. I'm sure I was part of the original survey.

Thanks! I too accidently deleted a whole folder. I thought I was just deleting a subnet but it had selected the parent folder. And I too went through the pain of having to recreate everything. I don't know why this feature hasn't been voted on more. There's got to be a better way of restoring a deleted folder in IPAM.

Yeah same here. We have a network team and that's only responsible for the network. So we don't have SAM. It's always painful having to prove that the network is AOK.

Yeah I really had to sort out the Syslog server as there was a huge amount of messages that were not necessary. So I write rules to delete these messages when they arrive. I also have a rule that will email us with all level 0, 1 & 2 syslogs. Then from there I custom write rules on what else I like to know about. BGP and…

You had me at KISS We use mainly quick recovery for our networking gear. There's redundancy for all the real important gear but small sites are based on quick recovery. If the link is down for too long, the users need to go mobile or to another site. The big sites all have redundant links (separate paths) as well as…

This is a great mission. Love the theme! Well done.

Last week was fun! I've submitted by phrase. Like most others, I too struggled on the first security question but eventually found it. From there on the questions became easier even to the extend of not having to open up the hints for any of the 3 catagories (I'm in the Network Admin section). Only issue I found was that…

Nice write up. It's so true. I always "dumb down" my answer to a level that I think the audience will understand.

Guess I have a life to do that

You need a good set of earmuffs! Or instead of white noise, they could crank up some decent music

Thumbs up!

Test. weird some posts are getting moderated....

Good antivirus is a must! Here most of IT (if not all) are local admins on their device. It would be a royal pain if I wasn't a local admin on my devices.

Done! And rock on!

I'd never heard of Deadpool but your post is hilarious!! I had to google Deadpool

We don't have a NOC so no one looks at the dashboard and is responsible for it. We do display the dashboard on some TV's and some of us may display it on our own monitors. So instead we rely on alerts such as emails or SMS's. Then someone in our team will take a look at it.
