Completed the survey.

Ah yeah, you posted this 5 years ago. I guess until now, it's never been a problem for me as it was purely a network tool only. Here's to hoping

silverbacksays wrote: IMHO, It's good that some of the questions make you think outside what you can find with a CTRL+F on the hint page Totally agree. What's the point if it's super easy? May as well have a lucky dip draw each week, rather than having some fun and learning something along the way.

Flow is good Flow is bad I hope everything keeps working Otherwise I'll be sad

As others have said, it depends on what the issue is.
-
I agree with that one must still do monitoring even if the server lives in the cloud. There are plenty of times when the provider doesn't even know there's an issue until someone informs them (they should run Solarwinds )
-
I guess if employees have no access to install software on their computers, then that would stop the issue. Also having up to date antivirus software on their machine should also help. The problem is when something new comes along, and the scanners aren't detecting it.

Today's question needs a little work although I did answer it correctly. And the hint doesn't work either It should be Cloud Performance Optimization – Database Management System | SolarWinds

I use NCM and it does everything I want it to. So I've not looked elsewhere to see if there's anything better. I have used other products in the past but they were clunky and hard to manage. I have no such issues with NCM. So I'll keep using it But your list is spot on.

Another week done. I too have been getting the 404 error but when I go back in it's marked the question as correct. I haven't checked my points score as I'm not fussed about the points.

I agree with the report but I do have reservations. We have certain SLA's to always meet but with more and more going offsite, it's hard to say if they'll be met as well as what having it all onsite.

You've been a very naughty boy!! Monty Python reference in case it's missed.

Bugger I missed this post. Finally one month I have all green and I get pipped at the post and not re-fill out the survey. Ah well, now there is August to have another shot :)
-
Haha, did you give her extra batteries??

Welcome! And see you around the board

Thanks for the informative writeup. I was not aware of most of that. It all looks pretty good. Although here at work, we are moving towards google apps. Long term I assume it spells the end of Microsoft Office for us. Time will tell.

It's amazing how many people still fall for the simple "click on the link" malware. It doesn't matter how many times you tell them, they will still click. It's like sending outage notifications - they never read them and then complain that they "didn't know" there was a scheduled outage.

Great post! I'm not one for hacking but I always like to find ways to simplify things.

Australia can help you with that

Hooray all green ticks!
-
I'd rather see a non-sci battle like Kightrider versus The Dukes of Hazzard. Sorry but I just can't get into any sci-fi stuff at all.
-
Yup I got stung as well.

You're in luck Bob!

Congrats to the winners!

It pays to be vigilant.

This is exactly what I was about to write. Right from the word go, I've been committed to dropping noise. The less I'm alerted the better. Only other thing I do always is to create alerts when an issue occurred and we didn't 'notice'. If that issue occurs again, we'll know that time.

Clean desk dude! A few more pictures would liven up the place

I remember we had the BBC computers at school. We'd buy magazines at the newsagent that had basic code to make games. So that's what we'd do at lunch time. It was a pain if you made a typo somewhere in the code! But the games were always cool to play. Well cool back then.

I have been to Trafalgar Square but that was back in 2000. I hope to get back there one day in the future.
