I think I read that deleting them doesn't actually delete them but, adds them to an ignore list. This is also true, if you have 'Calculate dependencies automatically' to ON it's an all or nothing…

Did you ever find an answer to this as I have noticed the same in our environment?
but I hope publicity could encourage Solarwinds to do something about that
Unlikely. IMO of course. Their whole driven by the people thing is just another fancy tag line from a company. There are…

I can only advise/suggest you contact support and ask them directly. But if you do as I suggested above, then you can get to the cached version of that post - link to that follows.…

Ok, in all honesty I don't know that there is an easy answer to that, and this thread started originally as a means to potentially help me, but in the process would help others. As I've said upthread, I learn best by doing and interacting with others. The idea being (purely as an example) one of the group would say I need…

Personally speaking I wasn't putting any expectations on SolarWinds but it was they (via @"KMSigma.SWI") that started adding in suggestions or querying what I was after. If they can host it, then I can see that it also benefits them but then it also (in my eyes) puts an onus on them to be actively involved.

Thank you @"bluegrue" - apologies for the late response but for some reason this thread only randomly hands out notifications to me.

Love the handle / nick name / tag :) Years ago, in BBS days I used to sign off my messages with "Stu...D" - and someone took umbrage. that I was calling them stupid. When I pointed out what my actual visible name was, they quickly backtracked and apologised. Anyway - welcome to the gang, I hope we can get something worked…

I'm getting more and more into MD's and can really see the benefits but struggle with "placement aspects". What I mean, is if I decided to replicate the above, how do I restrict the view to just one F5 or one client or just have it visible (like a plugin on a specific type of page) for all F5's but that it only shows that…

Awesome stuff - many, many thanks Rachel.

That would absolutely mesh with my findings.
# The SECOND column should be called "Load" # The cells below this should contain a "Y" for each node you wish to create # (This allows you to have one big list but not create them all at the same time…

I've done some more digging and it appears the duplication comes from the node having multiple alerts configured against it with very similar names! I have no idea why the TA decided this alert needs to be duplicated so I will discuss with him. You may return to sleep everyone :)

Well it was our TAM that pointed out the section in the document saying they all had to be in the same domain and hasn't come back yet to say if that is an absolute- urk! Mind, we have our monthly catch up chat tomorrow so will re-ask.

It definitely helps - thank you Luke [ @"sum_giais" ] We don't need to worry about the server side, other than the box(es) it is running on as we are purely a networking team, but should we one day have to take that side on from a monitoring perspective then it's all good grist to the mill.

Welcome to the growing pains that are 'getting in to Orion'. I've been using it for nigh on 3yrs now and still consider myself very much a newbie to it. But as @"m_roberts" says, there is no automated way [that I know of[] to do what you need. Instead you import your nodes and assigned your predetermined 'Custom…
As someone who has never been a programmer of any sort, I'm slowly learning my way around, but if you are starting from square one learning SWQL, it's a long, steep learning…

Thank you @"shyde" - interesting observations about the file location/movements. Most of our APEs are domain less as well, but the ones that aren't we manage anyway so can create whatever user accounts we like. I suspect we will just have to go with a 'suck it and see approach' as the official line is as per my screenshot.

I can't answer directly but if BGP on the Palo Alto is via an OID then you could probably add that as a UnDP and monitor it through that? A quick search brings me to this page: https://knowledgebase.paloaltonetworks.com/KCSArticleDetail?id=kA14u000000HBfzCAG&lang=en_US%E2%80%A9 which shows some BGP stats - just depends on…

Thanks Marlie ... I had considered a custom property approach but rejected that on the basis it was over-complicating matters. Plus I'd need to document the what / why & how of it for future users and I'm just not feeling the energy to do that for this specific client team as they constantly demand but never give back.…

Cool - I know our TA is looking to move to .6 but we've been hit with a few long term sickness which has side lined a few of our "would like to do things" and the move to .6 is one of them.

Welcome to the pain that is SWQL - SQL alike but not quite all the way As an aside, I've been trying to get an ad-hoc SWQL study / learning group up and running but see this post for info. As to your query, it should be fairly straightforward so long as the fields you want to add are being pulled from the same table in the…

We are still on 2020.2.5

Ah ha - I actually think I follow that. Thank you.

I get this and it is very frustrating. At first I thought it was because I wasn't logged in to the SolarWinds Customer Portal, but even that made no difference. I suspect, as with a lot of THWACK links, the document no longer exists OR it has been removed from general access as being wrong /dangerous / etc to follow the…

Either head to alerts and then top right click 'manage alerts' - or - go to Settings > All Settings and find manage alerts. Then find (search is easiest) the Alert called "ASA site to site VPN Tunnel down", put a tick next to it and click on the duplicate and edit button that should now be enabled. Then just edit the alert…

Ahh ha - I see now. When I first tried this I just turned it on, and hit the hubble button on the Top 10 page. I didn't click on each top 10 link to show it in its own page. Diolch.

OK thanks for this.

You know you can copy/paste images direct in to your message here - makes it easier to read? As to your issue, what are you trying to do? Your 2nd screenshot doesn't help as you've blocked out a key part. It looks like you've put a device (node) name in to where I think only a function should exist.

I think you'll need to reach out to support and get them to do this adjustment for you.
