Absolutely with you on this frustration. I do use and like SWQL Studio but it is so frustrating when there aren't enough 100/101 intros to get a total novice up and running.

Heartily agree - the user permissions appear to be an all or nothing in some circumstances and desperately need to be improved as part of the security re-think/approach.

LOL but I have struggled with this today. I think I have most of them now, but stuck with 7 (I hate ITIL) and 10. 10 seems like it should be a no-brainer but ....

Any update to the unmanage utility would be huge, and should have been baked in to the GUI right from the start. I'm sure there are other similar requests out there but everyone I find I'm up voting, even though it doesn't appear to have any effect

But you can create manual dependencies and these take precedence over the automatic.

You may, like the rest of us mortals, have to go down the road of creating UnDPs for now.

@"topkick" - have a look through this thread - there are a few of us in the same boat. You may want to join us and suggest a way to take it forward. Currently we are waiting on KMSigma to produce his book and maybe that will aid us.

I keep being told "if the data is in the DB then it can be extracted" but nobody seems to be able to tell me how to do that extraction. There should be, as I think the Op intends, be a straightforward on/off switch for alerting / messaging on individual job AND/OR node failures.
