@"AFarooqui" - as above: You would be better starting your own thread with full details of the issue. What switches (model, etc)? What are you seeing (or not)? What have you tried? Including basic troubleshooting like ping, ssh, etc from your poller/APE? Any error messages?
-
Thanks @"SaraClark" - and I already did and also already have my answers - so thank you.

Personally I find it easier to work this in SWQL and also it means you aren't directly interacting with the DB and possibly could cause a mistake. Second, I think Orion.Events is probably a better table to query and you can query on EventType = '8' then. So, something like: SELECT EventID, EventTime, NetworkNode, EngineID,…
-
You could definitely create a Custom Query widget and input some SWQL. A very simple SWQL to eliminate the EventType you don't want... for example: SELECT EventID, EventTime, NetworkNode, NetObjectID, NetObjectValue, EngineID, EventType, Message, Acknowledged, NetObjectType, TimeStamp FROM Orion.Events WHERE (EventType NOT…

Ohhh me, me, me. I nearly missed this post.
-
Good to know.
-
My SWQL is not up to this level of skill but maybe @"sum_giais" or @"Seashore" can help with that.
-
That's neat - I've added that to my admin overview page.
-
LOL - and you get the green question answered box whilst not answering it
-
Yes, you would think so. Sadly it appears not.
-
We don't use compliance rule checks here but what's the issue you are facing? Can you detail your approach and what you've tried along with any problems/errors/etc that you are seeing?
-
It would be useful and I can certainly see a "nice to have" for this in our environments. Sadly, I'm not aware of a notes field, nor do I think you can add one via a custom property. I think the best way forward would be to get a Feature Request added for…
-
Are you talking about the Meraki end or the SolarWinds end? If SolarWinds then they have, in my use of it, a lot of areas that need addressing regards the order things are displayed in. Connection profiles being chief amongst them.
-
I just had a quick look and can't see a Feature Request for this, but I suspect that's the way forward.
-
No, 6 is the maximum. It even tells you that in the page view settings:
-
Apologies I should have drawn attention to that. That's a call to a custom property so we can easily associate/identify the kit to a specific client.
-
And voted on
-
Also what is the device, and what device template are you using?
-
You can create a job [My Dashboards > Network Configuration > Jobs] to run the command and save the output, see here: https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/success_center/ncm/content/ncm-jobs.htm I can't immediately think of a way to do this via a report though.
-
No, not seeing that here. Presumably you have restarted the servers, and checked that all the SolarWInds services are started?
-
I don't have an answer, but out of interest is your attempt to re-create the tab almost immediately, or at least within the span of the same day? I ask as I wonder if the DB maintenance which usually occurs daily in the wee hours would clear down the old entry - even though no longer visible to you, it is still sat in the…
-
Hi - you'd be better to post this as a request in the FR forum - here: https://thwack.solarwinds.com/product-forums/network-performance-monitor-npm/i/feature-requests For what's it worth I'm 100% with you.
-
@"taylorray" It would be better if you start your own thread with a bit of clarity as to what you want, what you've tried and what results or errors you get, and just maybe someone that knows an answer or pointer can help. Also be aware that 99.9% of the folks responding in THWACK are members of the public and using their…

Hopefully from next week that will include me

Thanks Philip - I'd forgotten I'd asked this question :) At this time I was getting so frustrated that I think I probably asked very similar questions several times, and was getting precisely nowhere. However, I have a lovely little script now that eventually I corralled together from various places and people. It does…

After 10 very busy months I have an hour or two to spare and still very much need to know how this is done - if possible. Anyone advise?
-
There is an alternative version if you can't or don't want to monitor via SNMP. You can force change the entry in the DB (MachineType) from unknown to whatever you want. We do this for Thin APs that get added via API calls. Which reminds me, we currently have >800 unknown devices and we need to do a round of 'fixing'
-
You need to monitor them via SNMP - this pulls back the SysObjectID which then populates the Node Details page: ... and then in turn, that would populate it under the Manage Nodes section as 'APIC Server M2' (at least that's how ours appear).

I was surprised how quickly I built points up... enter the monthly quiz on a daily basis, answer questions or just join in with conversations, answer surveys, sign up to a UX session, etc...

Click on your points and it takes you to the Thwack Store. Scroll down and you'll see all the items you can potentially purchase. Right at the bottom is this: If you have enough points you can add it to your cart and then checkout.
