Thanks for everything wabbott! Best of luck on your new adventure!

I've had, and enjoyed, Booker's. I don't think I've had the center cut stuff, though. The regular is plenty dangerous in its own right, lol. I do find it to be quite good after it sits on some ice for a few minutes - it opens up and mellows quite well. I'm also a fan of Baker's. And yeah, the stories about this stuff are…

Ah, my bad. Thank you for posting a clarification.
-
Of course but that's not what the statement I was responding to was talking about. I didn't make that comment in a vacuum, it was a response to a specific comment.
-
For those fretting over the hint: There's a much, much bigger hint in the question itself. I tried it and was successful.
-
Yep, the answer is definitely there. It does require some reading - a Ctrl+f isn't going to cut it - but it's there to be found. Have to pay attention.

Just the other day I saw someone respond to one of these "challenges" or "quizzes". The questions? Oh, just your parents' and grandparents' last names. How often is mother's maiden name used as some sort of (in)security question or validation metric? I was blown away that someone posted that information but then I realized…

I thought B.r.a.d. always had his password written down on a bright yellow post it attached to his monitor.

That El Camino-mero is exceptionally hideous.

Sometimes it helps to remember where you are and what you're participating in. This is marketing (admittedly tons of fun to participate in but marketing nonetheless) and I find that keeping that in mind sometimes helps clear up stuff like this. Why craft a question that tells your potential buyers what your product can't…

Don't rush to answer today. The answer is conventional (re: Solarwinds missions) but the way it's written is not. Take your time and review all of the provided information.
-
The reset is much more better clearer. Thanks Marcos!

I, too, enjoy some goodly word butchering. I also like to play with word order and junk like that. My favorite author in regard to screwing around with the language is Joseph Heller. Good as Gold is just amazing for this sort of stuff.

Or you could do a little digging. Someone posted a hint link somewhere upthread. And you have to realize that your own experiences and procedures are irrelevant as there's no way the staff could know what they are. Rather than think "what would I do" you need to think "what is the answer the Solarwinds staff expects".…

Look at those two phrases and then carefully look at the possible answers. You'll see it. You may need to be very granular in your analysis (think: letter by letter) but I'm confident you'll find it.
-
It's definitely potentially a possibility that I absolutely may have referred - in a distinctively vague way - to some entity or entities assumed to be regarded as wholly partially directly indirectly related to - yet exactly opposite of - this Skynet I think you may have spoken of. Or not.
-
I'd definitely try that. My friend actually picked up a bottle of Blanton's in Edinburgh because it was cheaper than what we've been paying in the States (I remember when it was $52 a bottle *puts cane away*). It's also some sort of special edition because the stopper is gold. Can't remember what it is, though. Pricing was…

I prefer to think they're the same person, makes for a more interesting story. Think about it: "In a world where everyone is actually two people ...". What kind of crazy place is that? And how does the math work out? I mean, if everyone is two people does that mean that everyone is really just one person? Cuz if I'm two…

There's no reason for a reset. The question was fair, the hint was accurate. Was it more difficult than usual? Erm, maybe - if you consider a tiny bit of trickery an increase in complexity. But yeah, there's no inaccuracies here and the mislead was intentional so no reset is warranted. Uhh, IMO, of course.
-
No one ... except the person that did (the person I was responding to): "First, would you agree that Solarwinds is paying the staff to do this, either directly or indirectly? That makes this a marketing tool. The purpose of marketing is to create interest in the product that can be translated into sales. Would you also…

I did a Ctrl+f for two words in the question. The result found only one solution which included all of the words in one of the answers - albeit in a different order. I felt that was pretty definitive (and my choice was correct) but it's possible it's just me. It is Monday, after all, and I didn't really do any digging…

I think this: was the key to Q7. Of course, it does assume you know what a host is. But the answer is easily found when you drill and filter properly. I, too, am far happier with this months questions. I got really tired of Ctrl+f answers and even more tired of the Dr Who trivia stuff. Like, super tired of it. This is more…

I'm not sure what's easier than reading.

I do have to side with the folks who found the hint somewhat lacking. I got the correct answer but it came down to experience (PCI/DSS, HIPAA and SOX) rather than the hint. In the morning I looked at the comments before I looked at the question (hard learned habit, lol) and decided not to answer. After the updates I…

Nexus stuff is pretty good but I don't think it's got as much as that quote indicates. Sure, if you run into the right sort of bug you'll feel like your network was ravaged by a typhoon while it was on fire and the cause will be darn mysterious but how often does that actually happen? I do remember one really fun bug,…

Wasn't the old format for these True/False? Should probably go back to that, lol.
-
I was going to link to that 5 minute short I was talking about but then I remembered there's some light violence and some profanity. Probably best not to. Oh well.
-
Again, read the hint info carefully. All you have to do is decide whether or not there's more penalties listed there than as possible answers. EDIT: I like to open the hints in a separate tab. This allows me to do the ol' "stare and compare". I think that's a helpful tip for this week.

Better start than last month, lol: Guess I was more awake for Q1 this time.
