That is absolutely a piece of what I am referring to. But not only a PSU (and not only hardware) goes down... If you have a Print Server and the spooler service fails... turn the node warning or down. After all, a server isn't any good if the services it is running fail.

Yes, this script worked for me from within APM 3.0. I had to tweak it for our environment, but it is working as expected. The link for the base script is in the original "correct answer" above.

Honestly, it would probably be nice if rollup status in general were more customizable. In this specific request, it would probably be preferable to give both options. In our environment, it is the actual node status more often then not that we would want to see change. This is because most of the time if the APM that we…

We have been seeing these same issues with NPM 9.5.1. They also seem to be related to some issues we are seeing with alerts mis-firing. Our alerts are setup based on the owner of the device and the status. We are using several custom pollers to poll SNMP info such as disk state, PSU state from Dell servers and run time…

This method worked for me on my server where we have our Engineer's Toolset installed. I am looking for a way to make it work on machines that don't have Toolset. Machines that don't have toolset, still get a right-click menu with a more limited featureset. I want to add (or modify) the WebBrowse option to browse the node…

That sounds like it may meet our needs, but honestly, it is something we will need to use before I know for sure. At the very least, it sounds like an enormous improvement over the condition/suppression abilities that exist now. I would expect that an edge router could be handled the same way as a switch. Orion should be…

Thank you Roger. That vb script looks perfect. The script itself seems to work as expected and I am trying it out with APM now. Again, thanks for your quick response.

My apologies Marie. I meant to include versioning info on these posts, but forgot. We are running NPM version 9.5 SP5.

Unfortunately, I have not found a solution for this issue yet. SolarWinds tech support tried assisting, but in the end told me that we were overworking our server and recommended that we separate the database out. Unfortunately, a 2nd server is not in the budget for this, so we are currently just dealing with the misfires.…

Have you received any feedback from SW on this topic? I'm in the same boat -- we would really expect and like to see the Event ID in the forwarded message.

I am seeing the same issue and have reported it to SW in the following case: Case Update: 124759 - Netflow issues during startup Their response makes some sense, but I believe it is still a bug that they need to work out. Basically, the SW support staff is indicating that this occurs because while the SQL DBMS service may…
